"...the sea is now at the worst levels for alien matter it has ever seen, with jellyfish blooms becoming more common as the sea warms up..."

I took a sound-bite from the news as my theme and played with metaphors. SOMNIUM's Giger outfit is an awesome work of art and nod to the great science fiction artist himself and is designed so you can mod it to your heart's content. I recommend using Nefekalum's 'What We've Done' arm tattoos as they work well with the Somnium set and have materials to catch the light and give an additional depth to the outfit. Finish the look with claws from L'Emporio and a tail from Naberious to have that complete alien edge that Giger was so fond of drawing, and of course the outfit comes in different colours so you can let your imagination flow.

Images and perceptions that might easily be dismissed with a glance, a laugh, an exchange of opinions occupy him unduly; they are heightened in the silence, gain in significance, turn into experience, adventure, emotion. Solitude begets originality, bold and disconcerting beauty, poetry.

Who’d have thought that photography, architecture, eroticism and science fiction could combine, well, I did! This was a passing by moment in the car, had the camera in my hand, reached out, snapped off the shot at an angle and this was the result of, the Berlin main train station, it’s a huge place and an architectural photographer’s playground.
I hope everyone is well and so as always, thank you! 😊

i was reminded recently that i used to be passionate about HR Giger. spent some precious dollars on his picture book about bio-mechanics. altho that book was stolen, i can still see his work clearly in my mind's eye. and given advancements in robotics and prosthetics, i appreciate him more. yes, sci fi is imagination but it is also the seed from which reality is changed.
special thanx to mjh1967 (michael h) for jogging my memory...

This sinuous mass of wiring, found in an alleyway in Galway's Latin Quarter, reminds me of Giger's work on 'Alien'. www.hrgiger.com
I'm convinced that if Ireland wasn't continually soaked with rain and/or the buildings weren't all of stone and concrete block, the sketchy wiring would burn the country to the ground.

On Jetty Beach, a strand of she-kelp loosened in the storm is abandoned by the receding tide.
I use the Positive Film jpg setting in the little Ricoh - carried as a light meter for the bigger film machines. I try to match those tones in the RAW when editing files from the camera - occasionally it comes off.
The colours in the sand, the reflection of the sky and the foetal shape of the kelp brought works of the late HR Giger to mind.
Sometimes I think the Ricoh is all the camera I really need.

In the footsteps of HR Giger, he inspired me.
This is from the steam supply line for the dry section in the papermachine. It is a picture of the series: "The Dark Dry-section". I hope you like it, and for tomorrow I wish you a good start to the week.

If you know the art of H.R. Giger you should see why he would love this shower stall. He was the one who created the look and feel of the "Alien" movie series. Lots of spinal cords, ribs mixed with machine parts. The arrangment of the pipes in this stall are in a spine-ribcage configuration, thus the association with Giger. I bet some clever fellow could take those pipes and re-arrange them to act as a tripod and so defy museum policy.

Underside of a bridge on Avenue road by night. If you ever wanted to know what it would feel like inside the Alien's belly; go here.
Hans Rudolf "HR" Giger was born as the son of a pharmacist in Chur in the Swiss Alps, the city where I went to highschool. HR Giger achieved world fame as a representative of fantastic realism. He was awarded an Oscar in 1980 for the design of the "Alien" movie.
HR Giger's sculpture "Torso with long skull shape" stands in the garden of the Graubünden Art Museum. Half human, half machine, the figure is characteristic of HR Giger's dark, surreal and psychedelic figure world, which oscillates between dream and reality, life and death, man and machine.
I processed a paintery and a balanced HDR photo from two RAW exposures, blended them, carefully adjusted the color balance and curves, desaturated the image, and selectively added a bit of saturation back in the figure. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

Title: Conversation with God
Medium: Graphite pencil on paper

* I believe there are no rules in prayer and in having a relationship with God. God sees through our vices and the material and exterior aspects of our Selves. He sees or knows our heart, who we really are. When one can relax and be yourself in faith that you are loved in accepted for who you are in God's presence, then you are on the way to a meaningful relationship with the Lord.
