On this night I ended up in the emergency room in sheer upper abdominal agony for the second time in two weeks. The ER doctor said it could be an ulcer, acid reflux or gallstones. Never had a digestive problem in my life. Not even a little heartburn. Ever. On top of that, the nurse was horribly inept at drawing my blood and I ended up with ugly bruising and more pain from the needle being dragged all over the place under my skin, than from my original reason for being in the emergency room. I left before they did the ultrasound. I wasn't trusting their medical staff any longer.

During supper at our favorite sushi and Chinese food joint, Sushi Ko, the waiter came over and offered us free, unlimited drinks. I had some hot sake, the Wife plum wine. They're lucky we were with our kids, because I can put away a LOT of sake.
A delicious meal of sushi including prawn (ebi), scallop (kai-bashira), tuna (maguro), tuna belly (toro) and eel (unagi), with some hot sake on a cold morning near the Tsukiji Fish Market.

Did I mention the only alcohol they had left when we got the party was 190-proof Everclear? That may have accelerated Shirtless O'Clock. I did eventually get my glasses back, and Emorimiku and I spent the walk home arguing about theoretical physics and trying to stay upright. Taken at Jaiden's party.
