Hidden in the inner parts of Hope Cement works in 2005 are two former BR Class 20's
The class 20 to the left dressed up in Lafarge livery is 20168 - Sir George Earle which also carried the number 20304 during its time.
The class 20 carrying a version of BR Green is unknown.
The image is one of a number given to me by my good friend Ken Horan whon worked on BR on sheds in the Sheffield area finishing at Tinsley.

Following Doctor's orders, I'm doing my daily 30 minute walk, and figured I might as well take the camera, especially as a sunny day highlights all the fall colors
new painting! For the "All Star Hustlaz" show at White Walls in Dec. By the way...this is the biggest painting I have done since school!
An unidentified Class 25 with steam banking is pictured at Scout Green on the WCML with a mixed freight before the wires.
This is one of a number of images given to me by my life long friend Ken Horan and driver in the Sheffield who worked on both steam and diesel finishing at Tinsley.
Ickles Yard , Rotherham under a bit of water , taken on the 10th December 1965.
The image is taken by my long time friend and fellow enthusiast , Ken Horan whose standing on what is known locally , as The Old Road , at Masborough , the man in front is a plate layer who was walking the track.
Local landmarks include Booths scrapyard to the right , the cooling towers in the distance at Tinsley which used to dominate the landscape.

Taken on the 7th January 1968 , a UID Peak is seen heading West through Patricroft on a passenger.
I know very little about this area and would welcome any additional information.

I took a few photos of this scene and just did not get what I was looking for. Tried a one-shot HDR using Skylum's Aurora HDR 2019 and it popped. Overdone? Possibly. :-)

D403 later to become 50003 is seen departing Preston during Class 50 operation on the WCML prior to electrification.
D403 was built at Vulcan Foundary to British Rail in January 1968 becoming 50003 in February 1974.
Initially based at CD for passenger work on the WCML , the loco was transferred to BR in March 1974 only stopping a month before moving to LA where it would spend the rest of its time until withdrawl.
On the 9th May 1978 the loco was named Temeraire , which it carried until its withdrawl on the 15th July 1991 , the 34th member of the class to be withdrawn . Its final act for BR would be to work the 2040 Waterloo - Yeovil Junction passenger on the 1 July 1991 , some time after was found to have main generator problems withdrawn on the 15th.
The loco was cut up at MC Metals , Glasgow.

Standing in Sheffield Victoria station is Pre Tops E26053 in charge of a passenger for Manchester Piccadilly.
The train stands on platform 5W - 5 West ?
Sheffield Victoria Station was opened in September 1851 , with electrification reaching there by 1954 - 1500 V DC enabling reducing the journey for Manchester to 56 minutes.
The 1950's saw the station at peak with regular services to London Marylebone , all the named expresses , The Master Cutler , The Sheffield Pullman , The South Yorkshireman all served the station in addition to local services, but by the end of the 1950's the station was in decline with expresses either cut or rerouted.
By the mid 1960's part of what was left of services that called at Victoria were concentrated at Sheffield Midland , after September 1966 the station was left with an hourly service to Manchester and the daily Liverpool - Harwich boat train.
Following the second Beeching report British Rail favoured the Hope Valley as its route from Sheffield to Manchester and in 1967 plans were drawn up to close the Woodhead to passengers services , with the last service , an enthusiasts special arriving at 0044 on the 5th January 1970.
From that point on the station was closed although it reopened briefly for a few days in 1972 whilst Sheffield Midland was being resignalled
E26053 was built at Gorton Works in March 1953 receiving the name Perseus in October 1960 which it carried until December 1973 . In March 1974 it was renumbered to 76053.
Withdrawn on the 2nd November 1980 , being cut up at Booths Rotherham in March 1983.
