Hadrians Wall seen here snaking off westward past Sycamore Gap in Northumberland. A bleak September afternoon overlooking the wilds of northern England.
A nice sunny afternoon on the Northumberland coast - well it was for the first hour that I was walking towards Dunstanburgh castle from the nearby village of Craster. If the tide is out like it is here then take a walk onto the rocks and the view of the castle is made better with moonscape landscape of the rocks and rock pools in the foreground.
Sometimes the phone camera is the only camera in your hands when something beautiful is going on.
Ulagan village in Altai Republic | June 2018
The lovely - and tiny - seaside village of Craster in Northumberland on a nice sunny September afternoon. The lobster pots, the fishing lines, the people eating kipper sandwiches all congregate down by the small harbour to watch the waves roll in and clouds float above.
To the right there are a few stones belonging to Hadrians Wall and in front you have a 'normal' stone wall - nothing to do with the Romans. I just liked the reflection of the gate in the puddle. This was taken on a very blustery day, wet one minute and dry the next on the Hadrians Wall Path in Northumberland.
only later did i notice his feet were reflected in the mirror, against the hues of brown leather and colors..
The ruins of Wenlock Priory are the remains of a 12th century church that once belonged to the Cluniac monastry, it is now owned by English Heritage.
This is St Peter and St Paul in the Northumberland village of Longhoughton. Tucked away behind trees on the main coast road through the village. Luckily as I was taking photos of the outside, one of the key holders arrived to do some work on the flower arrangements inside so I was able to have a look around. Lovely and light inside, this is currently the most northern church that I've added my name to the visitor book and left a donation in the collection tin.
