The trees are starting to drop their leaves as the temperatures have finally cooled. It has been such a harsh year for the trees in my yard due to the heat and drought. We have no fruit on our apple or plum tree this year because they blossomed before the bees arrived. The season is transitioning and I am too.

All of the leaves are beautiful no matter if they are torn, spotted, starting to wither, and aren't perfect. I need to remember to to appreciate and honor my body with my freckles, scars, bumps and all of the changes that come with age.

Appreciate whatever season you are in, I know it's hard but someday you'll look back and see that you have always been better than you thought.

Thank you for the privilege of being chosen as the current cover!

This was taken at 11:30pm when the park rangers are gone. They will not allow tripods. This is a 2 min. exposure at f4, ISO 1600. Canon 5DMarkII. I am walking through the image with two Canon strobe flashes to illuminate the names on the wall.

Please know, dear Bo, that you are valued and cherished as you should be.

I wish I had a better photo to honor him with, but this one reminds me of how his heart felt empathy and humanity made him stand out amidst the throngs of people that surrounded him with all their mendacities.

I'm not a religious man, but God bless you, Jimmy Carter.

NS 911 which is the “Honoring First Responders” Norfolk Southern EMD SD60E is seen leading a train South on the NS Bloomington District. This is train D36 which operates from NS Good Yard in Bloomington, IL - NS Decatur Yard. NS 911 is passing the Wabash signals that still stand tall here in 2020 in the small township of Osman, IL.

It is wrapped in honor of Christophe’s remarkable, famous wrapped projects. This likely to be Monceau’s only selfie. 😵‍💫

Union Pacific newest specially painted unit sits idle in the yard in Council Bluffs, IA. This SD70M is wearing the number "1616" in honor of Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States. Additionally, while the paint scheme is similar to that of UP 4141, painted in honor of George W Bush, the colors on this Abraham Lincoln unit are unique. The inspiration for the colors come from colors used around Abraham Lincoln's time.

Seems like just yesterday I was hiking through a larch forest in peak fall foliage. I spied endless mountain slopes covered in resplendent gold, glowing in the morning sun under a crisp autumn sky.

How is it that six months have passed already?

Today was the official release date for the USPS Ansel Adams Stamps!

On a warm and stormy December afternoon, CSXT locomotive 911 leads southbound I033-11 at Ashland, Virginia. This locomotive is painted in a special scheme dedicated to honoring first responders. As many of you know, I come from a family with a public safety background, so it was VERY cool that this ran on a Saturday and I could go see it. I really appreciated the engineer's enthusiasm, and you can see him giving us a big wave as they rolled through town.

This is a view of the main pond at Honor Heights Park in Muskogee. While we were exploring the park area these tree roots sticking up out of the ground caught my attention. I thought they would make an interesting view. We tried to look up what kind of tree grows like this and we think these are a type of cypress tree. If anyone can add to the identification of it, I would like to hear from you. This park really is a beautiful place to visit. I wish we had one like it in my town.

My brake lights flashed on the moment I cruised past this little roadside produce stand. I've driven past it innumerable times without much notice. But on this day the encroaching thunderstorm set it off in dramatic fashion. I quickly turned around and pulled off the road. Absolutely quaint and replete with hand-lettered signs and small baskets of produce for sale. This stand is quite typical of my area. It's basically un-staffed and setup on a self-serve basis. You make your selection and pay on the honor system, leaving your cash and making change from a box of money left inside. Difficult to imagine such a payment model still exists in the modern era. I'm sure some folks abuse it. But apparently enough people adhere to the rules as to make it profitable.

These roadside produce retailers tend to pop up as summer winds down, with crops currently in abundance. I didn't make any purchases, but in retrospect I should have left a couple of bucks to cover my use of the facility as a photo location. I took a series of photos as the storm advanced. I absolutely love observing thunderstorms over farmland. There's usually great sky vistas where land has been cleared for farming. And these areas tend to be free of urban clutter such as utility lines and buildings. But my connection goes beyond the visuals. There's a feeling of connectivity witnessing storms out in the open like this. I think it has to do with scale. I tend to feel quite small as the storms tower above me. I'm always enthralled by the dynamism as clouds swirl and transform shape right before my eyes. And those odd moments (as happened here) when the sun momentarily pops out between clouds, spilling glorious sunlight over the landscape just moments before the rain come pounding down. It's a wonderful contrast not only of light and shadow but of feeling and emotion. These are the moments I love for.

I am honored, thank you so much ♥♥

The term Sogod is an English term for beginning. And this was one of the reasons why the town of Sogod in Cebu started the Panagsogod Festival as not just a colorful celebration but a tradition in the local place.

Even in the legends of the town, Sogod is said to be the place where the white sands stretching far from the north really began and the place is also said as the borderline of the black and white beaches in Northern Cebu. The magic and wonder in Sogod have made the town not just a place to discover but also a place to unravel and explore.

The Panagsogod Festival brings the banner of the word sogod which means beginning. This is also a celebration festooned with colorful shades of street dancing and fiesta celebration of the town. The Panagsogod Festival is honored to the patron saint of Sogodanon, St. James the Apostle.

The Panagsogod Festival is an annual event in Sogod and it is just not a showcase of Sogod’s rich cultural heritage and natural wonders but also it is the time for the Sogodanons to become united with each other that will promote unity and peace all over the town. Local officials from Sogod make it sure that every year, the festival is a celebration of the true Sogodanon’s quality and attitude.

In the town of Sogod, The Panagsogod festival is also one way of the place to attract foreign visitors and business that might have an interest in the town’s bounty and beauty. The Panagsogod festival is Sogod’s pride and life. It reflects who the Sogodanons are. It is also a true implication that it is a festival of new beginnings as shown from the different people gathered together to celebrate and have fun.

I am very honored to have my shot chosen as the cover. Thank you so much,
