Today included a little bit of fun. A co-worker asked me to take some "matrix-inspired" photos of him for his website. Of course, I had to break out the speedlites :) I had four lights, but only enough charged AAs for three...shame on me. Anyway, we had some fun. In retrospect, I see where I could have made this photo a little better with a snoot or two. This photo has the color temp and tint adjusted to get the green cast ala Adobe Lightroom (great app-I highly recommend it).
Strobist: Three lights used here. Nikon SB-24 camera left bare @ 1/2 zoomed to 70. Another SB-24 camera right bare @ 1/4 zoomed to 70. One Canon 550EX through an umbrella @ 1/2 above and behind me. Triggered with a combination of Pocket Wizards and optical slaves.

Kodama (my friend Sam has 20/15 vision. He noticed from ten feet away that this otherwise uninteresting fungus had water droplets on it. I could only see them from four feet away or closer. Without his eyesight I would have passed up this cool shot. (He has an equally good version)

This is Little Bitsy a 4 month old felis domesticus that is new to the household and judging by the look on her face she is also new to flying. I will admit that I feel like a smaller person for encouraging my 10 year old to thow the cat so I could shoot a funny pic, but in the end it was too funny to keep to myself. 10 minutes later she was sitting on my wife's lap comfortably resting like nothing happend.
Strobist: I know this isnt a beautiful of clever lighting job but it is fun. Vivitar 283, right side of subject at 1/2 power with a plastic tupperware lid as a diffuser. Fired by a cheap radio slave.
