Looking close...on Friday: Homemade
My husband likes pouches, carry cases, molle gear and the like, especially if they can hang from his belt and are exactly sized for whatever he wants to put in them. If he can't find what he wants, he might make his own, like this holster for mini-pens made of nylon webbing. For the photo I hung it from my own belt and had fun with the background colours.

A pocket knife out of Herbertz Top Collection, 523311.
This has seen some use...
It came with some accessories, a nice plastic transportation box and the depicted nylon holster - which is actually a useless accessory in Germany, because:
As this is a one-hand operated knife with a locking blade (liner lock, btw.), it may not be carried in Germany. It may be "transported" in that box, though.

You never know where he will be, or what he will see! He is the master of disguise! ...
Whether he's a Mexican, railing peering, sharp shooting, sporting wings, stalking stairwells, wearing a wig, looking through windows, licking his gun, securing his aim, getting busted, reading Vanity Fair, or just keeping an eye on things ... he is always THERE!
LOL! Did a fun shoot today with Morris and Pia, no rhyme or reason, except to use a fake gun and a holster! After the studio shoot we decided to do a few last images in the alley beside the studio. I just let Pia shoot and got Morris to bounce off the wall bearing graffitti and the next thing you know a police cruiser pulled into the alley! Yikes, busted! You just never know what kind of trouble you can get into with these flickerites! All was well, we just got a warning! :)
Seriously. I am never taking this hat and my holsters + cap guns off. Real wild, wild West cowboys never did, right? It's me and Sheriff Seth Bullock in Deadwood!

Everytime we show our EDC it's always clean and polished. This is fresh out of the holster. The backdrop is my Pittbull taking a nap on her doggie quilt. I figured Kaylee would make a good prop for my gun.
Up for trade are some customs gun holsters that I have no use for. They are made of vinyl, very sturdy and durable, great for soldiers of all kinds. I have 8 pairs of white, 11 pairs of black, and 6 pairs of brown.

I am very excited about how this turned out. The hemet to several applications and a lot of sanding. Total inspiration for this fig given to billbobful and his great Red Hood fig I saw at Brickfair AL 2014.

“Camper bus incoming!”, the walkie-talkie radio crackled with interlaced words and static. Su pulled out the walkie-talkie from its holster.
“On it.”, she responded.
For the past few days, the sky has been feverishly guarding wet and dark apocalyptic secrets. Heavy showers are intermittent, but the drizzle has been a constant. With the two-faced road sign in her hands, Su walked over to the end of the ‘bridge’, where she is supposed to flag down the green Denali Camper bus. Here at the Pretty Rocks of the Polychrome pass, a major restoration is underway on the Denali Park road, the only motorable passage through the national park that equally plies tourists and the local economy. Due to relentless landslides here at the pass, the road has become unpredictable and is literally sagging. To resuscitate this jugular vein of the park, the NPS has been trucking in ungodly amounts of gravel from the nearby Toklat river floodplain and overlaying the collapsing road with more of hope than substance. Su works at this construction site as a traffic lineswoman and responsibly navigates gravel carrying trucks and occasional tourist buses across the 80 yard ‘bridge’, an elevated barely-one lane of loose gravel that drops down precariously on both sides into the melting land hundreds of feet below.
Approaching the bend past the restoration site, Su held up the ‘STOP’ face of her handheld sign to the incoming bus. After coming to a halt, the bus driver rolled down his window.
“How long will this be?” A regular on this job, the camper bus driver was not interested in the stoppage other than its duration; he was to reach Kantisna –an old mining community at the very end of the park road– by 6:00pm so that he could retire to his mosquito-infested NPS camp for the evening.
“About half an hour”, Su said.
“What are they doing there for so long?”
“Lining up the gravel. We had a collapse this morning.”
“How long will you guys do this? It’s relentless, isn’t it? The climate change and all… the permafrost underneath –or whatever it is they say– thawing away… do you guys really think you can keep up?”
Su –Susitna to her Athabascan mother and Susan to her Anglo father– shrugged her shoulders. She really doesn’t know. NPS pays well, but there are days when Su doesn’t want to do this job. Her maternal indigenous lineage taught her subsistence living… to respect the land and live as its part and nothing more. Pick its berries for the sweet, burn its dead birches for warmth, and when they come, gratefully feast on its salmon and caribou to live. And never forget to say, ‘enaa baasee’ – thank you. But these earthly ways of life were fiercely caged after the second world war, when a crowd of explorers –including her paternal great grandparents– swarmed the land in search of gold and other natural products. Today, Su feels conflicted. The endowment of cultural disruption and the loss of connection with the circumpolar land is as much a part of Su’s identity as her brightly colored NPS rain jacket. She still tries to live by the land. But the land is now giving away.
“They say, this mountain is literally tilting over. Wonder how long it will last”. The driver sighed.
Su did not know what to say. She thought of the Nenana Ice classic in the nearby community where they place a wooden tripod on the frozen Nenana river and bet dollars over when the ice will break up next spring and drown the tripod. Eventually, when the ice breaks, the winner takes it all. But here, with the breaking of the permafrost and mushing of the mountain, there will really be no winner.
“Westbound… clear!”, the walkie talkie rustled. Su turned it down and held up the other face of her handheld sign that said, “SLOW. Proceed with caution.”

The only fictitious element in the above story is Su, who is based on the real lineswoman we met at the Polychrome pass. The rest is reality-based. The Denali park road has become unstable at the Pretty Rocks, where road closures have been the norm. And now, since August 24, 2021, the road has been pre-maturely shutdown for the year (official account), and if whispers are to be trusted, for a foreseeable future. In the press release, the Denali national park superintendent lamented, “Changing climate is driving frozen ground to thaw, resulting in unpredictable and increasing landslide movement rates at Pretty Rocks that are unprecedented in the history of the park road. We cannot safely keep up with the accelerating rate of landslide movement...”. I drafted Su in the story as a metaphor for all of us who once knew the way but are now lost and can only proceed with caution in an unstable world. As for the photo, it was shot on the banks of the beautiful Toklat river near Pretty Rocks. A keen viewer may spot the caravan of gravel carrying trucks on the Park road that trisects the frame at the upper third.

The moment hands come into the picture, I find it important that hands are given a function, holding a book ensures that hands play an active role in a photo.
1) Get a pair of handcuffs then cut the the chain off.
2) Open up the cuff and wrap it around the corners of the leg at the side.
3) Place a thin weapon such as a knife in the slot.
4) Spread the word and leave credit!
Here i am preparing the cover for the holster. I am making a tiny impression along the edge of the holster flip over, with a special tool!
