I think that Beauty Berries have to be one of my favorite berries to photograph.
Their glossy and speckled purple-pink berries look amazing next to any plant nearby and they look beautiful in both black and white or color photos.
I think I probably said all that before. I am getting old and forgetful...
This is the last of my 52 for this year.
I had planned to do 52 using just the Hipstamtic app.
But, early in the year I started having problems with the app crashing. So, I give up on that idea and moved to BW as my theme for the year. For the most part I think I stuck with it.
Captured with the iPhone and Aukey macro lens. Edited on the iPad. First in Snapseed and VSCO.
I have a color version that I will probably post in the future.
Playing around with my hipstamtic app on my Iphone. Love the colors in this. No adjustments. It rained over night so the colors really stand out.
Sorry I haven't posted or commented in a while. I have been working on some projects for Christmas. ;)
Some very tiny clusters of weedy flowers growing in one of my deck veggie planters.
Not sure what the plant is called but it has appeared in the last few years in the garden. Now it has moved up to the deck.
it likes to dig in and has little annoying prickles along their long and creeping stems.

BACK STORY
I like photography surfers because I like the beach and they are part of beach life. This image was shot with Hipstamtic because i like the various filter combinations I can use to photograph a common scene. I try to make my surfer images different from one another and not to cliché
Girl in the old town of Harar. Her brother was grinding some fresh meat, perhaps the one i ate in my spaghettis in the Ras Hotel...
For those who'll have the chance to go to Harar next time, forget the hotels, a shame, and go in the guest houses in the old town, clean, cheap, and with an automatic wake up at 5 with the 100 mosques around!
Harar (or Harrar or Harer) is an eastern city in Ethiopia. The city is located on a hilltop at 1885 meters.
For centuries, Harar has been a major commercial centre, linked by the trade routes with the rest of Ethiopia, the Horn of Africa, and the Arabian Peninsula.
Harar Jugol has been listed in the World Heritage by UNESCO. It is "considered 'the fourth holy city' of Islam" with nearly 100 mosques, three of which date from the 10th century.
Harar is also famous for its coffees and the french poet Arthur Rimabud wholived there.
The city is protected by a huge wall, and only few gates allowed people to enter. Nowadays, no more doors, just the Wall!
