Molecule Man - Jonathan Borofsky
This was shot in Berlin with a Sony RX100M2 and a gray filter using a tripod exposing for 30 seconds. I used the free App “snapseed” to do some editing like black and white and some vignetting.
Molecule Man is a series of aluminium sculptures, designed by American artist Jonathan Borofsky, installed at various locations in the world, including Berlin, Germany, and Council Bluffs, Iowa, USA.
The first Molecule Man sculptures were made in 1977 and 1978 in Los Angeles, USA. The sculptures consist of three humans leaning towards each other, the bodies of which are filled with hundreds of holes, the holes representative of "the molecules of all human beings coming together to create our existence".
I spent a good deal of my adult life visiting different countries and continents. It's what I lived for...the more exotic, the better. One trip that I have the most heartfelt memories of is Kenya. My senses were overwhelmed with sights, colors and sounds. I recall sleeping one night in a hut, my bed surrounded by a white net I thought was so cool, and being awakened in the pitch black night by the sounds of...God only knows, but it was terrifying and loud, animal screams. And then, silence. I don't know if I slept the rest of the night just wondering what was out there. I still imagine that scene some nights when I'm unable to sleep and recreate it in my mind...now that I'm safe at home.

Renowned for it’s eateries and in particular one very famous chief - Rick Stein, however Padstow boasts a wide choice and the Cherry Tree Cafe, bijou and is perfectly placed on the harbour front, staff, service & food are impeccable (unless you are a bird then VERY peckable!!) THE OIRAN
2014 OIRAN PARADE
OIRAN (花魁) were high-class courtesan or prostitute in the Yoshiwara pleasure district of Edo (Tokyo). The word "Oiran" consists of two kanji 花 meaning "flower", and 魁 meaning "leader" or "first."Ａrose in the Edo period, 1600 - 1868 and offering all manner of entertainments. Among the oiran, the tayuu (太夫 or 大夫) was considered the highest rank of courtesan, and were considered suitable for the daimyo (most powerful feudal rulers). Only the wealthiest and highest ranking could hope to patronize them.
The rise of the GEISHA ended the era of the OIRAN. The last recorded oiran was in 1761.
