The Helena Historic District (HHD) is a federally designated historic district in Helena, Montana, United States. Since its establishment in 1972, the HHD has had boundary adjustments in 1990 and 1993.[2][3] The original 1972 designation was composed of two unconnected sections known as "Downtown" and "West Residential". 159
Spring lasted a whole day and the ladybirds made the most of it. Its gone back to Winter now, drab, grey and rainy !

(Thought I'd better post something that wasn't a rabbit... though s/he has been in the garden again most of today.) :)
Following on from my previous photo this is a pair of "Anthidium manicatum" European Wool Carder bees mating on a Lamb's Ear flower this morning. For a solitary bee species they make a really loud buzzing noise which helps track them down HWW, HHD & HIHD!
This photo gives more information on this relatively new species for Ireland, just 5 confirmed locations noted so far plus my garden! The female bee scrapes the furry leaf surface off to line her nest tube with. This scraping is called cardering hence their name. When I first saw the web and spider I thought it's a spider eat spider world there but as I got closer I could see it was actually two Labyrinth Spiders mating.The male is on top of the female.
