I'm still trying to learn how to use my new phone's camera, so there will probably be a few over saturated and way too exposed photos until I get the hang of it. :P

Jeffrey was found as newborn without mother and only weighing 50 gram. He had to fight for his life. Now 7 years old he is the handsome king of his home.

This man with the snow shovel, who comes from above, is an everyday hero. One of those people who take things into their own hands as a matter of course.
I asked him where he wanted to go with the shovel.
His answer: 'Right over to the lanterns and shovel some snow so that the children are safer. His children are already grown up, but they used to go sledging there often.
The lanterns are at the bottom of the very popular sledging hill and he wanted to build a protective wall around the lanterns before the first child.
He took my heart by storm. ;-)
The Commando Memorial is situated about a mile from Spean Bridge village in Lochaber in the Scottish Highlands and is dedicated to the men of the original British Commando Forces during World War Two. It overlooks the training areas of the commando training depot at Achnacarry Castle.

Heroes' Square is one of the major squares in Budapest, Hungary, noted for its iconic statue complex featuring the Seven chieftains of the Magyars and other important Hungarian national leaders, as well as the Memorial Stone of Heroes, often erroneously referred as the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The square lies at the outbound end of Andrássy Avenue next to City Park (Városliget). It hosts the Museum of Fine Arts and the Műcsarnok. The square has played an important part in contemporary Hungarian history and has been a host to many political events, such as the reburial of Imre Nagy in 1989. The sculptures were made by sculptor Zala György from Lendava.
Hősök tere (Heros' Square) is surrounded by two important buildings, Museum of Fine Arts on the left and Palace of Art (or more accurately Hall of Art) on the right. On the other side it faces Andrássy Avenue which has two buildings looking at the square – one is residential and the other one is the embassy of Serbia (former Yugoslavian embassy where Imre Nagy secured sanctuary in 1956).
Nizhny Novgorod, Russia
The boat “Hero” installed on the pedestal on the Nizhne-Volzhskaya embankment is one of the iconic places in Nizhny Novgorod. The history of this vessel is quite interesting. Contrary to the official version, it was manufactured in 1899 at Swedish shipyard “Motala Mekaniska Verkstads AB” and was originally named Finn. Operation began in a very mundane way - as a tugboat in the "Nobel Brothers Oil Production Partnership" in the Russian Empire. Then came the time of dramatic historical events. Already as a combat vessel, the former tugboat took part first in the events of the Civil War (1918 - 1922) and then in the WWII, including the defense of Stalingrad. She received the current name "Hero" in 1944. After the end of the war the vessel again worked as a tugboat in Nizhny Novgorod, and in 1985 became a well-known monument at the foot of the Chkalov Stairs.
What will be the future of the boat on the left - nobody knows 😄.

Эксплуатация началась весьма буднично - в качестве буксира в "Товариществе нефтяного производства братьев Нобель" в Российской Империи. Затем пришла пора драматических исторических событий. Уже в качестве боевого судна бывший буксир принимает участие сперва в Гражданской войне, а после - в Великой Отечественной войне, в т.ч. в обороне Сталинграда. Имя "Герой" он получил в 1944 году. После окончания войны судно вновь работало буксиром в Нижнем Новгороде, а в 1985 году стало памятником у подножия Чкаловской лестницы, теперь уже легендарным.
