Op de overgavesporen werd uitgewisseld met DB Cargo. De vijf ketelwagens werden gewisseld met drie ketelwagens.

Ineos Werk Herne Lok 5 met drie ketelwagen gaat geduwd van de overgave sporen naar het fabrieksterrein.

... I was blessed with some beautiful light in Herne Bay yesterday. Tried my hand at a long exposure which makes the water look like an ice rink. The clouds were also performing well

Deze vuurloze stoomloc wordt gebruikt op het bedrijfsterrein en de stamlijn naar het hoofdspoor bij station Herne. Na mijn bezoek in juni 2015, is de loc een tijd buiten dienst geweest, maar na ik onlangs heb begrepen wordt hij nu wel weer (soms) gebruikt. Toch uitzonderlijk in 2020.

Voordeel van dergelijke chemiebedrijven is dat er altijd gratis stoom ter beschikking staat, dat maakt de exploitatie natuurlijk wel aantrekkelijk.

This is Herne Bay Pier in Kent, which was actually the third pier to be built at Herne Bay. It closed in 1978 and only the end of the pier remains now which is quite far out to sea. It was a pretty long pier at 3,787 feet / 1,154 m.

The off-shore windfarm and some of the Maunsell Forts can be seen in the background.

Taken shortly before sunset. I wanted to get a super long exposure and completely blur the sea but it was just too windy.
