There are 9 types of echinacea, three of which are used for medicinal purposes, native to North America. In herbal medicine, the leaves and seeds of this plant are used, but its roots have the most valuable healing properties.
For centuries, Echinacea has endowed people with its extraordinary beauty and healing properties. For its lovely inflorescences, Echinacea is called the "American golden flower" or "evening sun". And today, with its unusually attractive inflorescences, it will decorate any garden, and beekeepers will appreciate it - after all, it is an excellent honey plant. Blooming from mid-summer to mid-autumn, Echinacea flowers attract many butterflies, bees and bumblebees to the garden. As a honey plant, the plant is valuable because it blooms at the end of summer, when the main honey plants have already faded. From one hectare of continuous crops of echinacea, 60-130 kg of honey can be obtained.
Only Echinacea purpurea has been well studied, it is widely used in medicine and is popular in ornamental gardening. The American Indians, knowing about the healing power of echinacea, cultivated it centuries ago and used it as a universal medicine for a variety of diseases.
Echinacea roots and herb contain essential oils, resins, phytosterols, carbohydrates, isobutylamides, fatty oil, and a variety of other substances. 7 groups of biologically active substances have been found in plants, which include polysaccharides, flavonoids, caffeic acid derivatives, essential lipids, alkylamides, vitamins and trace elements.
Experts recommend taking echinacea for any septic conditions, symptoms of blood poisoning, meningitis, bronchitis, tonsillitis, otitis media, burns, boils and purulent ulcers, gangrene, stomatitis, gum disease, candidiasis, psoriasis, eczema, inflammatory processes of the genitourinary system, postlercosis , gonorrhea, herpes, hemorrhoids.
As it turned out, echinacea not only stimulates antiviral and antibacterial immunity, but also directly, like antibiotics, causes the death of bacteria, viruses and some fungi. It is especially effective to use echinacea during epidemics, as it helps the body to cope with viral diseases. Echinacea extracts inhibit the growth and reproduction of streptococcus, staphylococcus, Escherichia coli. The preparations of this plant are effective in the treatment of prostatitis, gynecological disorders, various wound processes (trophic ulcers, osteomyelitis). Juice from fresh inflorescences accelerates blood clotting. In general, the remedy is recognized as non-toxic, but in some cases it is not recommended to take echinacea - during pregnancy and lactation, with tuberculosis, leukemia, multiple sclerosis, collagenosis.

Also known as Lesser Celandine (Ranunculus Ficaria). It grows all over my back lawn in early spring and is pretty, apart from being a good excuse to avoid cutting the grass early on. Apparently, gardeners regard it as an invasive weed and go to great lengths to get rid of it. I quite like it and it's all gone before too long on its own. Although toxic raw the leaves and petals have been used in the past as an infusion to give relief from hemorrhoids, hence the name 'pilewort'.
Search on the web, says it is used for: Today, passionflower is promoted as a dietary supplement for anxiety and sleep problems, as well as for pain, heart rhythm problems, menopausal symptoms, and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder. It is applied to the skin for burns and to treat hemorrhoids. If I had known that while chasing trains, I would have stopped to harvest some. These are so nice to find and view.

Speenkruid

Lesser celandine
The leaves of common celandine contain a lot of vitamin C. In the past, the plant was therefore used against scurvy. It was also often used in salads. It is important that the leaves are picked before flowering. During flowering, the plant develops protoanemonine and saponin, poisonous substances in the leaves. The leaves then taste bitter and are therefore avoided by meadow animals. The above-ground parts disappear after flowering.
On drying, protoanemonin is converted into a less active substance, anemonine, which is also toxic. The plant also contains essential oil.
The root contains anemonine, tannin and triterpene saponins. It used to be used internally and externally for hemorrhoids. However, internal use is not responsible.

Foresters don't like to see the honey fungus in the forest because it not only colonizes dead wood to decompose it, but also attacks living but weakened trees. I discovered this attractive and still-fresh group of mushrooms on a tree stump. The forest background was just as important to me as the main subject. It takes up about two-thirds of the image, reinforcing the "mushroom in the forest" impression.
Incidentally, the honey fungus is a medicinal mushroom. In earlier times, it was used to treat hemorrhoids.

It is my pleasure to recommend a set of books that I used and believe to be quite informational: Foods And Their Healing Power and Medicinal Plants. As a Fellow, in the Medical Fellowship Program at Wildwood Lifestyle Center and Hospital, I have found these books to be quite helpful. They provide accurate nutritional information for a wide array of foods found throughout the world and they include a list of medicinal plants with their properties and mechanisms of action. In addition, they are written without the usual heavy jargon, which makes them appealing to healthcare professionals, non-health care persons and children. The quality is superb and the material is presented in a colorful way. I have recommended them, on numerous occasions, to guests and patients at the Wildwood Lifestyle Center and Hospital. This set of books will complement the home and any other learning enviroments.

I am writing this letter to offer my gratitude regarding the Encyclopedia of Medicinal Plants. In your description of the books you explained how beautiful they were and their content. All that I can say is that your words were not enough! The books have already proven to be an incredible asset to my own education and the promotion of God's health message to others.
The color and clarity of photographs is nothing less than phenomenal and the information given on each of the foods and medicinal plants far surpasses anything that I have been able to find thus far in book form or on the Internet. Not only will this prove very valuable in a health ministry but also in my profession as a medical doctor in education of my patients.
Please feel free to use me as a reference if anyone medical or non-medical needs further insight on these very valuable tools. Thanks again and God bless you!

They looks beautiful when they start to bloom in the Spring :)
Lesser celandine or pilewort (Ficaria verna) is a low-growing, hairless perennial flowering plant in the buttercup family Ranunculaceae native to Europe and west Asia. Lesser celandine grows on land that is seasonally wet or flooded, especially in sandy soils, but is not found in permanently waterlogged sites. In both shaded woodlands and open areas, Lesser celandine begins growth in the winter when temperatures are low and days are short. The plants mostly propagate and spread vegetatively, although some subspecies are capable of producing up to 73 seeds per flower. The plant is known as pilewort by some herbalists because it has historically been used to treat piles (hemorrhoids).

Ziarnopłon wiosenny, jaskier wiosenny, zwyczajowa nazwa pszonka (Ficaria verna) – gatunek rośliny wieloletniej z rodziny jaskrowatych.
This spring I'm making an effort to photograph the more common members of our native flora. I tend to overlook these species due to their familiarity, however many of them are just as beautiful and interesting as the rare species.
This is Texas toadflax (Nuttallanthus texanus). It is widespread and abundant across much of the United States. Around here it grows in many places, including native prairies, pastures, and lawns. It has wide range of purported medicinal uses, including as a treatment for hemorrhoids. How about that?

According to the Vietnamese chronicle, his mother gave him up for adoption to a man named Lý Khánh Vân at the age of three. Công Uẩn was educated by Vạn Hạnh, the most eminent Buddhist patriarch of the time, in the village of Đình Bản, a short distance across the Red River from Hanoi to the northeast. He acquired a reputation as a devout Buddhist, and then a historian student, and a soldier. He was gradually promoted from a minor official to a prominent post of the government and was ultimately bestowed with the title Tả Thân Vệ Điện Tiền Chỉ Huy Sứ (The Commander of the Palace's Left Flank), which was one of the most important positions within the royal guards.
In 1005, the ruling king Lê Hoàn died, resulting in a civil war between his sons. Lý Công Uẩn began serving at the royal court, eventually rising to a high position of trust at the side of the designated heir to the throne. In 1009, the ruling king Lê Long Đĩnh (r. 1005–1009), the last king of the Lê family, developed hemorrhoids and had to lie down while listening to officials’ reports. Incapacitated by declining health, Long Đĩnh watched helplessly as the monks of Giao launched a propaganda campaign that nurtured belief in the inevitability of Lý Công Uẩn becoming king. He died in November 1009 under the wrath of the people because of his brutality and cruelty during his reign. Đào Cam Mộc, an royal official, and Patriarch Vạn Hạnh seized the opportunity and imposed their power and political influence to enthrone their trusted disciple Lý Công Uẩn without much resistance, thus ended the reign of the Lê dynasty.
Two days after Long Đĩnh's death, advised and assisted by his patron, the monk Vạn Hạnh, and by the efforts of the entire Buddhist establishment, Lý Công Uẩn was proclaimed king by general acclamation. After his ascension to the throne, Lý Công Uẩn named his era "Thuận Thiên" (順天) meaning "Accordance with Heaven['s Will]".
During the reign of Lý Thái Tổ, the Song dynasty was pre-occupied with maintaining internal stability and still recovering from previous defeats or skirmishes with the Liao dynasty and Western Xia. Đại Việt, as a result, was mostly left alone and political relations between the two states revived. In 1010, the Song emperor recognized Lý Công Uẩn without delay, conferring upon him the usual titles of vassalage.
In 1010, Lý Thái Tổ attacked and caught thirteen persons of Địch Lão (bandit) ethnicity and presented the captives to the Chinese court. In August 1014 he sent a mission to China, presented 60 horses as gifts and notified the Song court that he had subdued a Hani community.
Lý Công Uẩn died in 1028 at the age of 55 according to the royal official accounts. He was buried at Thọ Lăng, the Mausoleum of Longevity, outside of Thiên Đức Palace. He was posthumously named as "Lý Thái Tổ"; his posthumous imperial title was "Thần Võ Hoàng Đế". Today the ancestor spirit of Lý Thái Tổ is among those popularly honoured in rites at national shrines.

The last thing Arthur wanted anyone to know is that he prefers to treat his hemorrhoids with apple cider vinegar. Just a little dab on the affected area three or four times a day brings him relief. Unfortunately, Arthur's online searches for information on hemorrhoids and apple cider resulted in targeted ads which allowed all of Camelot to put two and two together. Now, even Lancelot rubs his butt every time Arthur walks by.

QUESTIONS THAT HAUNT ME ????
Can you cry under water?
How important does a person have to be before they are considered assassinated instead of just murdered?
Why do you have to "put your two cents in".. But it's only a "penny for your thoughts"? Where's that extra penny going to?
Once you're in heaven, do you get stuck wearing the clothes you were buried in for eternity?

If a deaf person has to go to court, is it still called a hearing?
Why are you IN a movie, but you're ON TV?
Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money in binoculars to look at things on the ground?
Why do doctors leave the room while you change? They're going to see you naked anyway.
Why is "bra" singular and "panties" plural?
Why do toasters always have a setting that burns the toast to a horrible crisp, which no decent human being would eat?
If Jimmy cracks corn and no one cares, why is there a stupid song about him?
Can a hearse carrying a corpse drive in the carpool lane ?

Why does Goofy stand erect while Pluto remains on all fours? They're both dogs!
If Wile E. Coyote had enough money to buy all that ACME crap, why didn't he just buy dinner?
If corn oil is made from corn, and vegetable oil is made from vegetables, what is baby oil made from?
If electricity comes from electrons, does morality come from morons?
Do the Alphabet song and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star have the same tune?
Why did you just try singing the two songs above?
Why do they call it an asteroid when it's outside the hemisphere, but call it a hemorrhoid when it's in your REAR END?
Did you ever notice that when you blow in a dog's face, he gets mad at you, but when you take him for a car ride, he sticks his head out the window?

My heart is weak and unreliable. When I go it will be my heart. I try to burden it as little as possible. If something is going to have an impact, I direct it elsewhere. My gut for example, or my lungs, which might seize up for a moment but have never yet failed to take another breath. When I pass a mirror and catch a glimpse of myself, or I'm at the bus stop and some kids come up behind me and say, Who smells shit? - small daily humiliations - these I take, generally speaking, in my liver. Other damages I take in other places. The pancreas I reserve for being struck by all that's been lost. It's true that there's so much, and the organ is so small. But. You would be surprised how much it can take, all I feel is a quick sharp pain and then it's over. Sometimes I imagine my own autopsy. Disappointment in myself: right kidney. Disappointment of others in me: left kidney. Personal failures: kishkes.Yesterday I saw a man kicking a dog and I felt it behind my eyes. I don't know what to call this, a place before tears. The pain of forgetting: spine. The pain of remembering: spine. All the times I have suddenly realized that my parents are dead, even now, it still surprises me, to exist in the world while that which made me has ceased to exist: my knees, it takes half a tube of Ben-Gay and a big production just to bend them. To everything a season, to every time I've woken only to make the mistake of believing for a moment that someone was sleeping beside me: a hemorrhoid. Loneliness: there is no organ that can take it all.

Fozzie: “That could spell trouble.”
Miss Piggy: “That’s better than swallowing a bunch of Scrabble tiles. That could have spelled disaster.”
Kermit: “Did you know that Shakespeare wanted a stage made of Scrabble tiles?”
Fozzie: “Really? I didn’t know the game was invented back then.”

Continuing with my mini-project of photographing these historic neon signs around various neighborhoods in San Diego, this is the famous Boulevard gateway sign along El Cajon Boulevard that in the past was a major east-west thoroughfare through the county.
From the 1940s to the 1960s, this busy road was lined with drive-in restaurants, malt shops and motels that featured many neon signs. As the decades went by the neon signs disappeared and the surrounding area fell into urban decay.
In 1989 city and local business leaders erected this landmark sign to attract new businesses and revitalize the local community.
This is a single shot effect was done in camera by zooming out the lens during the 25-second exposure.
Additional mind-bending effects may be achieved by viewing this photograph for at least 10 minutes while listening to Pink Floyd in a dark room.
[Happy and soothing television voice over begins] Contact your doctor if you experience headache, nausea, vomiting and dizziness as these could become permanent. Other risks include dysentery, cardiac arrhythmia, mild heart explosions, varicose veins, darkened stool, darkened soul, hemorrhoids, mild discomfort, sugar high, vomiting and mild rash.
Sweet dreams!

Spotted Hyena (Crocuta crocuta) drinking and taking a sitz bath from the same waterhole. Spotted Hyenas crunch and eat bones quite a bit that some stories about them getting hemorrhoids as a result of the type of poop they pass are circulating. They are often seen sitting in water which can be likened to a sitz bath. Image taken in Etosha National Park in Namibia.
