In January 2025, Top Lock on the famous Tardebigge Flight of locks comprising 30 locks in 2 and quarter miles collapsed and has undergone extensive repairs to its walls. The repairs are now finished,but the canal has become overgrown with water weeds and algae mainly because of the lack of traffic along the canal. The Worcester-Birmingham is usually very busy especially during the summer with narrowboat holidays and there are many permanent moorings here which now cannot move due to the overgrown state. Work is now being done to clear the waterway, but it will take a very long time. This is an important route into Birmingham where the canal joins the Canal Main Line at Gas Street Basin.

Anyway, so this was it ...;
New sofa, became new coffee table, became new carpet, became new dining room carpet etc.
and I thought we just bought a new couch ;)
Ps. the old coffee table (in the vault) to be removed.
A new little hemerocallis I planted last year-forget its name but I do like it! It seems happy here now, despite the heat. Just gave it a little drink!!

A photograph of a trio of clear glass insulators that were used on "telephone" poles to distribute electrical power. Hemingray appears to be the manufacturer of these insulators.
Befitting of the vintage of these objects, this version is rendered in B&W. However, other variants of this will be displayed in color as well.
My thanks go to my neighbor Lars, whose father collected these over the years. These are from his collection and Lars graciously allowed me to borrow them for the purpose of shooting a couple of photos. More photos from that shoot are forthcoming.

For this shot I could have done with a chain saw to chop a couple of trees down to my right, this would have revealed two more arches at Hems Bridge.
66425 & 66122 cross the River Hem at Littlehempston. The presence of the DRS 66 is still unknown but as she visited the dockyard branch at Plymouth I can suppose it was for route refreshing or there is a nuclear sub due in for a refit. I am not certain why 122 was included.
Anyway here is my deepest Devon country scene with the two 66s working the 1433 Devonport Dockyard to Bridgewater light engine move.
