It was my last week in Japan, and I was invited to go to Kyoto from Tokyo to help a friend move and also see one more Burlesque show before leaving to Australia .
The shows I was going to in Tokyo were well lit (for burlesque at least) Kyoto was so dark and the club was in a small basement down a back alley to get too.
Mecav was MCing this event. She is so bubbly and full of energy, I love watching her host and talk even though I only understand 10% of what she is actually saying.
She was always asking me to teach her "American Slang" and what so and so means. I told her,
"When something is very sugoi in America we say it's HELLA DOPE"
Her smile would change to a more serious concentrated expression and you could almost see her brain working as her lips said "Herra dope"
She would call things dope the rest of the night, and she still comments on my facebook posts from time to time to tell me some thing is hella dope, hella sexy or just hella anything.
I hope she's spreading the phrase through out Kyoto.
