Dunnock (Hedge Sparrow) our garden sheltering from the rain. A pair of Dunnocks nest each year in the ivy on the fence in our garden.
Dark Hedges, One of many locations in Northern Ireland used during the filming of the TV show Game Of Thrones.
When I informed myself what I have to see in Northern Irland I have found this hedges. A touristic hot spot for 'Game of thrones' fans, cause a lot of locations has to be found here. I saw only one of hundert films and it was... nothing for me, but this alley is magic.

I sit me in my corner chair
That seems to feel itself from home,
And hear bird music here and there
From hawthorn hedge and orchard come;
I never tired photographing this beautiful bird. this one was within a few feet of me in the hedge right next to the hide. I love the detail that you can only see by using photography to freeze a moment in time.
The Dunnock (Prunella modularis) is a species of bird in the genus Braunellen, the only genus in the family of the same name, Braunellen (Prunellidae). The Dunnock is a widespread and common breeding and summer bird in Central Europe, but because of its inconspicuous plumage it is usually only noticed for its vocalisations. In some areas of Central Europe it is even an annual bird. Hedge sparrows are particularly common in young spruce stands. In the mountains, they occur as far as the knee timber region.

The Gatekeeper, also known as the Hedge Brown, is a golden butterfly that provides a welcome sight in the middle of summer, when the fresh adults start to emerge. This butterfly spends much of its time basking with wings open, when the sexes are easy to tell apart - only the male has the distinctive sex brands on the forewings.
grabbed another walk round the fields with the dogs, and this is one that they couldn't get in on ;-)
Played around loads with — for me — subtle tweaks and ended up, if this is the version I remember, leaving it pretty much untouched, except for calming down the red of the rose-hip.
in overcast light, it was the dark tips of these tiny leaves that first caught me.
Shaggy, one of our neighbour's cats, spends her early mornings sleeping in our jasmine hedge. It is over 6 feet tall and here she is just making her way out to move on to her afternoon spot - lol
Happy Furry Friday. We have lovely weather here at the moment but it is half term next week, so the Forest will be over run with tourists for the next several days, so unless we go out very early, we will be staying at home. We have a holiday to Cornwall coming up in a couple of weeks - very exciting.
Wishing you all a happy and carefree weekend
