I think it's time to get a telescope!!! This is a fellow photographer that I met in Joshua Tree National Park. He, his sister and another photographer and myself hung out here for a couple of hours exchanging tips and friendly conversation.
We were looking for variations on different compositions since nobody there could find a comp with the arch and the MW that looked any good. At this time of year the MW is on the back side of the arch which is somewhat less photogenic than the front side. So I strapped a 50 LED police headlamp on this guys head and handed him my back up headlamp set to red LED mode and ask him to put that on the ground at his feet. After a little fiddling and a few test shots I ended up with this composition. Hope you like it!!! :)
I will be heading back here in June when the MW is in a much better position. :)
This was shot at the White Tank Campground on the Arch rock loop.

While trying to capture a Perseid Meteor, I got a lot of planes flying through the camera frame. Looks like a latter leading to heaven

Bow Lake is located on the Bow River, in the Canadian Rockies. Bow Lake was one of the stops during driving on the Icefields Parkway. It was a cloudy morning; I was amazed by the magnificent peaks and reflections on the lake. The view is stunning. Spending some time walking around the lake, the scenery of Canadian Rockies is out of this world.
This was a bit different view of Bow Lake 😅

I found this stairway in a side room in the old church in Oamaru.
I didn't venture up it, you never know what might be up there :)

I went up to the Bristlecones with the intention of getting this shot. Well, so did a few others. I first met Lisa and Jeff, and then another group of photographers wandered in. It was great, though, got lots of good advice and perfect light painting.To top it off a spectacular meteor streaked across the sky during an exposure to all of us "oohing and ahhing".

My feelings from space.
Sending healings and a bokeh of light
to our Alfie who is still very ill.
Today August 4th,2021 readmission to the clinic because he is in pain and can not eat. Ultrasound scan shows a lot of air in the abdomen. Will be put on an IV and nasogastric tube. To determine further blood tests for kidney functions.
Alf is not Alf anymore, luckily he had some weight reserves!
Oh sweet Alfie, please be strong 🙏 our dearest friend!
We are so sad, we don't want to lose you!

While driving to Capital Reef NP, on the side of the road, found the unique rock formations ups and downs, the road was mud and I tried to walked forward, my shoes was 20 lb heavy sticky with mud, had to drive very slowly forward... nice there was a billboard to introduce the Swingarm city, Caineville or often referred to as “Swingarm City” is a dirt bike heaven. It has open riding terrain with large, steep hills and drop offs, as well as technical single track trails and ridge-line trails. Some of the best freestyle motocrossers come here to ride and jump some of the biggest natural jumps in the world. The colors were extraordinary... truly an adventure
