This iris is long gone but so beautiful in early morning light, lucky enough to capture its beauty on many levels.
I just realized I’ve been MIA for quite awhile! Had to get treated for back pain, met virtually with sleep therapist, family reunion and met my granddaughter Alice for the first time…how wonderful that was:-)

That my friends, is a Chocolate Reaper sitting on top of a pile of scotch bonnet peppers. Spicy? Yep. Ian and I planted 10 pepper plants this summer, the aforementioned peppers, some regular old scorpions, serrano, habanero and jalapenos. I messed up two gallons of fermented pepper mash, (green mold), pickled a quart, made a gallon of fermented hot sauce and Ian has made several homemade hot sauces. And we still have a substantial amount left in the freezer.
This is about the only photos I have taken for fun this summer. Work is keeping me on the road and in front of the computer. Still trying to catch-up with everyone's amazing photos. Take care of yourselves. B
Drought resistant and good to go in Zone 10 and 11. Little bees like it a lot, honeybees, not so much.
On a bitterly cold day with windchills into the -40s these poor guys could barely keep their eyes open. They were sheltering from the North wind but I almost wondered if the red barn produced some semblance of heat that was comforting. In turn the magpies were sheltering on the horses’ backs.

A previously unpublished archive shot from some glorious springtime heat in May 2017. Make certain you find place and time to keep cool during the heatwave at the minute. Thankfully it's cooler north of the border. Enjoy!
The mercury is rising and the grass isn't faring too well! Luckily a few daisies are thriving in the heat though.
High quality coal gives a fantastic hot fire and delicious Steaks.
It was not easy to shot, because of the heat. That was a Problem and not good for the lens.
Drying grain in near 0° temperatures in the snow can be an almost spooky experience...until you get the propane bill.Then it's just plain horrifying! LOL
