The one and only McGown Peak, as backdrop to Stanley Lake, provides an experience that boderes on the religious and sometimes even more.
For a sense of scale, Stanley Lake sets at an elevation of 6513 ft (1985 m) and McGown summit is 9860 ft (3010 m)
A good friend and I left Boise in the middle of the night to catch sunrise here and the lack of sleep was totally worth it. It was one of those mornings, that if you listened close you could hear the mountains sing.

“The night was so very still that one should have been able to hear the whisper of roses in blossom—the laughter of daisies—the piping of grasses—many sweet sounds, all tangled up together. The beauty of moonlight on familiar fields irradiated the world.”

I took this on the trail to Shannon Falls in Squamish with my 10 Flickr friends on our photography adventure. You can barely see the falls through the trees in the distance. It's further down the trail than my "Can't see the trees for the forest" image. Happy Sunday!

Psalm 20
The Lord hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee;
2 Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion;
3 Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah.
4 Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.
5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions.
6 Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.
7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.
8 They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.
9 Save, Lord: let the king hear us when we call.

Listen: like a feather - Nikka Costa
I'm coming out of my wishing well where only echoes lonely hear my prayers
I'm coming around to bend cause my resistance been to persistent
I've come to far to force it so I'll watch it slide and land
I could come on strong and willful but
I'd rather watch it fall to the palm of my hand
and when I set it free like a feather it will be
and when I rise to see it done like whatever it will be, it will be, it will be, yeah
I'm taking a breather baby from sitting on pins waiting for my sky to fall
I'm taking up giving in so here's the wheel, I'm putting my feet up
take another look at me baby today I'm taking on catastrophe
I'd rather take it easy then try to force what's on its way to me
and when I set it free like a feather it will be
and when I rise to see it done like whatever it will be, it will be, it will be, yeah yeah
we're only afraid if we pull back the blinds too far
the lights behind that we free will blind other stars
but the truth doesn't blind it helps to see far
so get ready to be
who you are
Thanks Tomis :-)
Lying in the Sun
I hear the light, the sunlight pizzicato
The heat is speaking to my face again
I'm lying back not just like that but just so
I lie again in light light-minded monomane
I’m lying stretched out singing in my skin
I'm answering the light and singing softly
I'm foolish not apart from human things
And sing about the light around and on me
I’m lying all so southern utterly not knowing
Just what to do I’m only lying still
I only know the miracle of light here showing
I only know all that I ever will.

Everybody's talking at me
I don't hear a word they're saying
Only the echoes of my mind
Hey guys,
This is my last entry for the Tilheyra photo contest. I admit I was amazed when I first visited this land almost a year ago, at the beginning of my photo shoot. Since my first visit, I have been hooked. I recommend visiting this fantastic sim. You won’t regret. 🌐visit Tilheyra🌐

We stood
Steady as the stars in the woods
So happy-hearted
And the warmth rang true inside these bones
As the old pine fell we sang
Just to bless the morning
"I hear a voice in the autumn breeze, Telling me that I need to leave, But I can't fly with these broken wings. The leaves they move like poetry, Its all still such a mystery, But I can finally hear the melody..."

Your own personal Jesus
Someone to hear your prayers
Someone who cares
Your own personal Jesus
Someone to hear your prayers
Someone who's there
Feeling unknown
And you're all alone
Flesh and bone
By the telephone
Lift up the receiver
I'll make you a believer
Take second best
Put me to the test
Things on your chest
You need to confess
I will deliver
You know I'm a forgiver
Reach out and touch faith
Reach out and touch faith
Your own personal Jesus
Someone to hear your prayers
Someone who cares
Your own personal Jesus
Someone to hear your prayers
Someone to care
Feeling unknown
And you're all alone
Flesh and bone
By the telephone
Lift up the receiver
I'll make you a believer
I will deliver
You know I'm a forgiver
Reach out and touch faith
Reach out and touch faith
Reach out and touch faith

This one of the best days I had in September.
I love this image. Maybe it is because I have always wanted to take a shot like this. Maybe it was of the person who helped me take this shot.
I am very fortunate. Though you may not see in my facial expression, or hear it in my voice. I am lucky! I have people around me that are there for me no matter what. I am grateful. It's just another drop in the bucket.
Her lips stay painted red, her name tag's crooked
Her heart's been gone a while with the truck driving man that took it
He keeps her photograph on his rearview mirror
She prays for him every night, she hopes that he can hear her
~ Did you see the frightened ones
Did you hear the falling bombs
Did you ever wonder
Why we had to run for shelter
When the promise of a brave new world
Unfurled beneath a clear blue sky
Did you see the frightened ones
Did you hear the falling bombs
The flames are all long-gone
But the pain lingers on
Goodbye blue sky ~

[Listen]
I hear him, before I go to sleep
And focus on the day that's been
I realise he's there
When I turn the light off and turn over
Nobody knows about my man
They think he's lost on some horizon
And suddenly I find myself
Listening to a man I've never known before
Telling me about the sea
All his love is 'til eternity
Ooh, he's here again
The man with the child in his eyes
Ooh, he's here again
The man with the child in his eyes
He's very understanding
And he's so aware of all my situations
When I stay up late
He's always waiting, but I feel him hesitate
Oh, I'm so worried about my love
They say, "No, no, it won't last forever!"
And here I am again, my girl
Wondering what on Earth I'm doing here
Maybe he doesn't love me
I just took a trip on my love for him
Ooh, he's here again
The man with the child in his eyes
Ooh, he's here again
The man with the child in his eyes

Usually in The Netherlands our Bright Flower goes by the Latin name 'Primula'. Once in a while you'll hear it referred to as 'Sleutelbloem', Key Flower. That name comes from the way Primula veris (Cowslip) hangs in clusters much in the way of keys on a keyring. Primulas in 'the wild' are generally colored in various shades of yellow and white. But horticulturalists have had a hay day with Primula vulgaris in developing cultivars in many bright colours. So also these in the Hortus's garden shop. And, of course, they're grown for all seasons, early and late. On any glum day, a joy to see...
