With four GEs on the head end, this priority intermodal train for the west coast is easily making track speed as it descends into the Red River Valley.
Riding into a gorgeous sunset heading toward California from Phoenix, AZ along I-10 West.

This is a shot though the windshield from the car passenger side moving at about 70MPH.

Later on the week, I will relax and celebrate the new year in Las Vegas. So, I will not be uploading pictures. However, when I get a chance, I will be checking out your awesome work with my mobile phone. You will see something new from me sometime in January.

The 5 o'clock flight to the islands crosses over The Booty Ranch on its way towards aloha...won't make happy hour but in the islands, happy hour lasts all day long...
Last night I went to Torrey Pines Glider Port to try and catch some of the para gliders flying around near the cliffs, unfortunately, they had all packed up!!
Waited around for the sunset which slowly sank into the dreaded 'marine layer'. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marine_layer
This probably turned out my best shot of the night. You can see the vapor trails of aircraft leaving San Diego, as Lindbergh Field only has one runway aircraft usually head out over the ocean and turn around to head back over land (unless they're going to Hawaii and beyond.)
These were the wagons used by settlers on their way west. I was amazed how small and narrow they are. The wagons were filled
with provisions for the family and their animals, leaving very little room for people. Women and children walked most of the way.
