It was a beautiful early spring day and this White-Throated Sparrow was showing off his bold new plumage. Always a joy to see and especially hear them when they arrive after the long winter.

Not that his rack isn't impressive enough as is, but he added a little adornment to it for a bit more pizazz. Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming, USA, November 2024

I believe this is the last remaining headgear in place in the ore field. It rests over an 80 fathom shaft. Underground multiple levels extend up and link to Frazer's hush. A great deal of the mine is now flooded as are the two adits also on the site.

Taken as far back as the tracks allow on the east side. The two tracks do merge, but outside of the perimeter gates.
Would be interesting to see if the tracks extend beyond and follow the Bridgewater Canal, but that will have to wait for another day.

Pickering, North-Yorkshire...
I ran alongside, as the steam-train was leaving the station..., photographing on the run...
It made the driver smile and I captured it!
Most of the passengers may not realise how reliant upon volunteers the North Yorkshire Moors Railway is.
With the magnificent steam engines, beautiful rural stations and smartly uniformed staff, a visit to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway is like taking a step back in time.
From the smoke and steam pouring from the engines to the cosy wood-panelled carriages and friendly conductor service, the railway is both lovingly preserved and charmingly authentic.
It’s also the perfect starting point for a day out, whether you’re travelling between the rugged Yorkshire villages, hiking on the wind swept moors or spending a day by the seaside in Whitby.
You know by now that I am a 'purist? Prefer proper pure photography with the, nowadays, often forgotten important ingredient: EMOTION!
With love to you and thank you for ALL your faves and comments, M, (* _ *)

Wherever I went, I used to have my Nikon F4 loaded with colour-film.
(Now replaced by Nikon D7200, which I still try to use as much as possible like a FILM camera)
Very often I had my second camera (another F4) ready with a gritty 400 asa black and white film.
Digis don't have that problem, he?
Here in Crete I had this secret goal to capture the people, those interesting faces, I wanted to make some great portraits.
In the small mountain village of Prina, where time has stood still, my dream came true.
A group of people sat in the square, in the shade, chatting and laughing.
They have known real hardship, it shows, but there is great kindness and generosity.
It was Vesper's time. The tinny bell sang invitingly.
The friends around them moved out of the way
They allowed me to photograph them, her son and husband next to her, I first used the camera at hand (colour) to put them at ease (I thought), but to the Cretans a ‘portrait’ is always very serious... then I took this one...
I understood Ansel Adams, the lengths he went to, what he felt when he saw his subjects, the textures and ALL those wonderful grey-tones.
A magic moment, the lady so beautiful and lovely.
Later, for Getty, I needed a model release... she could barely write and did not know her year of birth!
Thank you, M, (*_*)

Fourth in my impressive headgear series.
A mature bighorn ram has to be in any collection of impressive headgear images. The horns of many mature rams are broken or frayed at the ends. The fraying is sometimes referred to as brooming and it is thought that some rams purposely wear down the tips to prevent the horns from blocking their visiton.
This guy can apparently see just fine and has left his horns fully intact all the way to their natural points.
He's giving me a nice head-on pose on a foggy morning in Badlands National Park.
Aos pouquinho venho voltando as atividades no flickr ^^

121 Pictures in 2021 ... #22. Curiosities
I suddenly realised that I had a whole load of sunset and golden hour shots from Salisbury Plain, that I hadn't worked on.
This was our first trip to the Plain after 3 months of lockdown, and it was wonderful!!

This Desert Bighorn Ram had one of the biggest sets of horns I've seen. We found him in Valley Of Fire State Park, Nevada. I pulled him out of the archives for a good luck charm as I head back to this area. Will be touring a big chunk of the great southwest for the next few weeks.
The first shaft at Magpie Mine was sunk in 1740 and continued to produce lead sporadically until the early part of the C20th but the company went into liquidation in 1924 as imported lead began to undercut UK production costs. It was not until the advent of the Second World War that the price of lead rose to a level where reopening the mine became economic and a new winder on steel headgear was erected beside the old Cornish Engine House. It was powered by a ship's diesel engine which was housed in the corrugated-iron shed on the left of the photograph. With the end of the Korean war and the fall of the international price of lead, in 1954 operations at Magpie Mine ceased for ever.

Headgear over a mining shaft near Levant, Cornwall, in thick fog. Happy New Year!
For an account of my trip to Cornwall, with more pictures from the old mines, and lots of interest to anyone who’s watched Poldark:
Another very typical stand in rural/semi urban streets in India. They keep the wood burning in the small pot (hence the smoke) to roast and keep peanuts hot. They are usually sold by a cup in the self-made cone-shaped out of old newspaper packets.

It must be that this question can often torment us if you went to a NON-professional in your field. This definitely cannot happen if you contact us or another trusted professional in your field. Why is that?🤔 I can answer this question by summarizing them on the main points😊😁
⠀
🎆You are definitely beautiful in your own way. And this beauty can only be captured by a professional in his field. Why is that? Yes, because only a professional will be able to perfectly choose the place, pose and other little things for your best photo😁
⠀
Also, a professional in any case can retouch and correct any flaws in the appearance or background of the photo. It is unlikely that a beginner can handle such work perfectly ⠀
🎆A good specialist will also not be lazy👆 to work on shadows and light in a photo. Such elaboration often makes the photo better and emphasizes any expressive features of appearance😌😁
⠀
I can describe such flaws in my work for a long time, but I think that the essence is very clear. You should not go to a layman and then regret the resulting photos. Instead, you can, for example, contact us! We have work experience and we really know our work😊😸

Hello! I'm looking for a sponsor for Pro account. I promise to place any text and information of sponsor at the top of the text. Please, contact me.
My first experience of filming, where I appeared as a model, was a photo shoot before the wedding.
⠀
I remember the feelings were mixed… After all, almost every day you tell people about how best to get up and sit down, you know how to choose a favorable angle and so on, and then suddenly everything is the opposite… You're already a customer. Unusual.
⠀
But very soon the tension disappeared. The photographer took pictures of us with (back then) the bride, then took a photo of the love story.
⠀
The shots came out wonderful, and we, satisfied and happy, went home. Here is such an experience.
⠀
Friends, there is a little less than a month left until the end of winter. Valentine's Day is ahead of us, February 23, Maslenitsa... Have time to capture the moments dear to your heart, photography is the best way. I will be happy to save your precious moments and reveal all their beauty.
⠀
Sign up to shoot with me.
