Taking a walk across the dam of lake "Hasper Talsperre" next to the city Hagen in the western part of Germany. The lake serves as a water reservoir for the surrounding cities. The dam was build in the years from 1901 until 1904. It is 287 meters long and and 34 meters high. Lake Hasper Talsperre is one of the most beautiful of the 14 lakes in the southern Ruhr-area.

The Harris's Sparrow is Canada's only endemic breeder! The common name of this species commemorates the American amateur ornithologist Edward Harris. Hard to photograph this bird (at least in winter) when spends so much time buried in weedy fields like in this photo. Took me 2 hours to be able to get a shot of this rarity in Florida....that's all!

Last time one was seeing in Florida was about 7 years ago!

"Der Haussperling (Passer domesticus) – auch Spatz oder Hausspatz genannt – ist eine Vogelart aus der Familie der Sperlinge (Passeridae) und einer der bekanntesten und am weitesten verbreiteten Singvögel. Der Spatz hat sich vor über 10.000 Jahren als Kulturfolger dem Menschen angeschlossen. Nach zahlreichen absichtlichen oder versehentlichen Einbürgerungen ist er mit Ausnahme der Tropen und weniger anderer Gebiete fast überall anzutreffen, wo Menschen sich das ganze Jahr aufhalten. Der weltweite Bestand wird auf etwa 500 Millionen Individuen geschätzt. Nach deutlichen Bestandsrückgängen in der zweiten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts vor allem im Westen Mitteleuropas wurde die Art in einigen Regionen auf die Vorwarnliste bedrohter Arten aufgenommen."

Vanuit Gevelsberg werd wederom de achtervolging ingezet. Toen we de trein bij Fritz Neuhaus in Hagen-Haspe zagen, hoopte we dat de loc het bedrijf zou aandoen. Want de bediening is ook erg fotogeniek. Na een half uur wachten vertrok de trein naar Hagen. Vanaf een brug hadden we mooi zicht op de lading.

DB Cargo 294 743 met 7 Eanos van Ennepetal naar Hagen-Vorhalle, vertrekt uit Hagen-Haspe.
