Old Harry Rocks, Dawlish UK.

The curiously-named small prominence on Chunal Moor.

No sign of Harry though.

Or his hut!

Today's Easter Sunday was sunny but also a bit cold, the woollen blankets were definitely not a bad idea.

Old Harry Rocks are three chalk formations, including a stack and a stump, located at Handfast Point, on the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset, southern England. They mark the most easterly point of the Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

There are various stories about the naming of the rocks. One legend says that the Devil also known as "Old Harry" had a sleep on the rocks. Another local legend says that the rocks were named after Harry Paye, the infamous Poole pirate, whose ship hid behind the rocks awaiting passing merchantmen.Yet another tale has it that a ninth-century Viking raid was thwarted by a storm, and that one of the drowned, Earl Harold, was turned into a pillar of chalk

This shot was taken on my boat journey back from Swanage to Poole on Tuesday evening.

It was a beautiful evening and I took my camera for the dogwalk with the intention to take a picture of Harry for this week.

Harry woke up to the soft chirping of birds and golden rays spilling through his window. Excited, he grabbed his bucket and dashed outside into the dewy grass. The countryside was alive, and Harry’s mission was clear: collect treasures. He found shiny pebbles, vibrant wildflowers, and even a few colorful feathers. Each item was carefully placed in his bucket, a reminder of the morning’s adventures. As the sun rose higher, Harry sat on the porch, proud of his finds, dreaming of what his next adventure would bring.

Let the day begin !

Since I became ill in May 2024 I don’t get to go out very much. So it’s important to occupy your mind, like editing photographs; reading and painting. I was fortunate enough to receive a difficult colouring book from Frank and Helen my lovely in-laws on a Stained Glass designer called Harry Clarke. One of my favourite designers, whose work I have seen in Holy Trinity Church, Dublin; St Patrick’s Church, Newport, Co. Mayo; The Stained Glass Museum, Ely and the V & A Museum, London.

I didn’t realise how many hours I had put in to just complete one but I have now finished five which I am now posting. Trust you will enjoy them. I am also posting one from a window in St Patricks’, Newport but now realise that my colour palette is a bit too bright. Hey ho.

Harry is desperately in love with Gaia - and very sad because she left him. I stay together with her sister and mother at my friend's home , away from Harry because she is in heat and drives Harry crazy.

Before I left I took this good-bye picture for this week. I'll be back in 5 days ....

We have been at our favourite beach in Normandy. Harry is happy to run free.
