Boots, hardhats, goggles, gloves and respirators left behind inside a highly contaminated mill. Workers became gravely ill and it was forced to shut down, leaving everything behind.
Netherlands, Rotterdam, Kop van Zuid, Wilhelminapier, Construction site of De Rotterdam, contsruction worker. (slightly cut from the top).
#11 of the Building the perfect beast set.
In many cases the first things that rise up from a skycraper construction pit are the elevator shafts. And with De Rotterdam there's no exception. A worker is seen here installing the modular molding system for the construction of one of those shafts. The flag he wears on his sleeve is Portguese - the Zublin construction crew is an international one

This isn't the most artistic shot, but i wanted to document whats been happening to us and our house all this week.
We have had a problem with the drains, and the only way to fix it has been to lift up the floorboards and big a bloody great whole, in the middle of our lounge!!!
We've had workmen and all sorts of machinery in and out of the house, not to mention the disruption and mess....and don't even get me started on the smell.
So this is me standing in the 6 foot whole in our nice lounge floor (after the workmen left) and yes i am standing in the sewer for my 365!!!
D200, Sigma 10-20mm, SB800, one great big stinking whole
Now this is a hard working kitty.. It even needed a hard hat for protection... Happy Caturday, Everybody!!!!!
All the hard hats having a well deserved rest after a long day of being worn. Sleep well - tomorrow's another day!
He's got his shirt off and is bending over... if I pay extra on the council tax can I take him home (or just take him!)
Do not try to seperate him from his head.. or from his piepe wrench....
Found that hat and needed to build a drone. xD
Build on the K-Frame... or B-Frame? i don't even...

We all had to wear Hardhats in case anything fell from above....
And we broke out the rain gear since it got showery..... I forgot
to bring my rain gear for the camera.....So I used my poncho as a cover for
my camera......LOL.

Steel Mill Hardhats and Protective Gear
These well-worn hardhats not only protected their wearers on the job but also came in different colors to signify which floor, rank or department a worker was from. Steelworkers often personalized their hardhats with stickers and slogans, signifying their community associations, religious beliefs or cultural identities.

7. Circuit Breaker Lockout

Despite its small size, this device played a huge role in protecting workers by preventing accidental activation of electrical power during maintenance or repairs. Attaching it to the circuit breaker switch safeguarded workers, while personalized tags identified the individual performing the check.

Was planning on doing some sort of birthday related photo today being my birthday and all but I came up with this. Went across the river from one of my photos from last week to check out the mine in the background. I took wellies today though so didn't get to soaked. Thanks to Andy for helping me out. Press L

Wendell, the property owner, had this tractor out to move some downed trees and suggested that we put Arielle up in the cab. It turned out to be a really fun set-up.
Strobist: 430ex bungied to the front roof pillar, above her left hand. Mid-day sun filtering through trees behind me on my left.
I guess he didn't need his hat anymore.
This is a Personal Favorite.
