Family will soon be arriving and I have lots of cooking to do! I'll be back after the weekend....and when the dishes are done 😳

This popular song was written by Harry Barris and Ted Koehler in 1931 (another very hard time for our country) and originally recorded by Bing Crosby. Unfortunately, due to tech difficulties, I can't find a good link for you - aargh! Anyway, I thought that it was a good song to share on this unusual Thanksgiving which will be very low-key for me. and I suspect the same for many others this pandemic-ravaged year. Still, there is much to be thankful for - not the least that if we can just hold on, we will have a man of humility, compassion, and wisdom at the helm of our country who will truly put Americans first, not just his own insatiable ego.

Another Amaryllis bloom has just begun to open. With a series of plumbers working in the kitchen today, I didn't get to photographing until later this afternoon. I was amazed by the difference in lighting from the morning to the late afternoon.

I'm happy to report that Mr. Meowzer is over his recent illness (eating wool is not a good thing) and back to normal. Wishing all my fellow Canadians a very Happy Thanksgiving today. Here in Southwestern Ontario (any most of the country) we have been blessed with AMAZING weather this holiday weekend making it perfect to get outside with the family. We are heading over to my parents this afternoon and plan on sitting outside on the deck (it sounds simple, but believe me, some years this isn't always possible as it can be too cold and rainy this time of year...and sometimes snowing!).

Unfortunately, we don't have a holiday here in Germany today, but our thoughts are with everyone celebrating Thanksgiving today.

How Do I Look? Pretty good there young guy. Hopefully you are far from town today.... There's lots to be thankful for today, including all my flickr friends.
On each Thanksgiving Day, it's only solemn and appropriate to reflect upon the year that's coming to an end......
I'm very grateful for my Faith, Family, Friends, Health, and all of the Blessings that Life has bestowed upon me.....

This is from our old neighborhood where we used to live. We had a large rafter of turkeys there that would parade up and down the streets. This one was by himself in the rain. Contrary to popular belief turkeys are not stupid, but rather very intelligent birds. And wild turkeys do fly...I have photos of them high up in the slash pines behind our old home.

Some of you have been with me quite awhile and know there were some tough times, but I'm very happy to say I celebrated making it 5 years after all the yucky treatments, and that's what they call cancer free... yay! Thanks to all of you for your friendship and support - I truly have much to be grateful for! ♥︎
This yard in my hood always decorates their front fence wonderfully. It's on a busy road, but I still appreciate it.
