Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name
Would care to feel my hurt
Who am I, that the Bright and Morning Star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wandering heart
Not because of who I am
But because of what You've done
Not because of what I've done
But because of who You are
I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean
Vapor in the wind
Still You hear me when I'm calling
Lord, You catch me when I'm falling
And You've told me who I am
I am Yours, I am Yours

There is always the sense of history there when you enter Sugar Mill Gardens. Though its recent historical roots stem from the days before the Civil War, when it was part of the Dunlawton Plantation, and a producer of sugar, once you step inside its gates, you feel something more- something much older. Even though there are walking trails, and the garden areas are cultivated, it still maintains that primordial, and ancient feel, which is why when you see some of the remaining concrete dinosaurs, it's easy to imagine the real ones roaming through the area millions of years ago.
The world is an ancient place, but it has its roots in something even more primordial. When God created that Big Bang, all that is came into being. So much has been argued about HOW that all happened, but it seems like what's more important is that it did. Believing in science doesn't make me stop believing in God as the Creator, since there is so much order in the way things developed, that it's pretty obvious there was a plan. The odds of all this coming into being without an architect is almost ludicrous!
Today, I tend to think of the One who set it all in motion- however He did it. It is Good Friday, and for many of us in the world who are Christian, it is a day we go beyond thinking about how it all began to WHY it all began. God creates. It's what He does. It's who He is. When He made us, He didn't make us mindless robots, incapable of choice. He gave us free will to accept or reject him, although rejecting Him has serious consequences. God made a way for us to come back to Him, even after messing up royally, by sending His Son to pay the price for what we did wrong. When we have faith in Him and follow Him, we are reconciled to God, and restored to the way it should be for us. It cost Him everything because He loves us that much.
Good Friday honors the day they put Jesus on the cross. He went to that cross because He loved us that much. God the Son was the final sacrifice for sin. He made it easy for us, though He suffered unimaginable torrnent- rejection, torture, and an agonizing death, all because He loved us.
When I think of Good Friday, I think of the beginning, when it all began, and how everything was pure and no evil existed in the world. The primordial world was God's handiwork, and we came along in time, as part of that. Through Jesus, we are made as beautiful as the primordial world- washed clean of the decay and ugliness of our sin. Thank you, Lord for dying for me, and making me new- giving me a new beginning; making me primordial, too.
Happy Good Friday!

Such an awesome day. You ever have one of those days that you want to remember forever.. today was one of those days.
I love my babies... I love my family.
I went for a walk yesterday afternoon,
the breeze on the beach was wonderful.
we live on a non-tourist beach so it wasn't too busy. the rest of the island is really jammed packed with tourists.. it's crazy. it is always like this for semana santa.. all the people from the mainland come to the island for a vacation. i am happy for them..i am.. just rather avoid the crowds..
i saw this little collection sitting on a dock as i was walking. couldn't resist. i can see why they left them.. not the best collection of shells.. haha.. but i thought it was too good of a photo op to pass up.
sorry i wasn't online yesterday, just didn't make it back to the computer...
so this is one day late. oh well.
happy good friday. blessings.
