I've got that right, don't I?
A few have mentioned they never tire of fall foliage shots and I reckon we'll continue to test that theory for a while. The winds over the last few days have done their annual duty, yet the oaks endure as they tend to do, the last to give up the ghost...tho some only do so with the arrival of new buds in the spring, somehow hanging on throughout our trying winter.
Another very nice day for late October, so off we go to the canoe to enjoy a relatively rare windless day.

We've gotten lots of rain the last 2 days and should be in a more normal weather pattern for July. Good for the animals.
Time flies,
After a hot summer, so the cows weren't out much,
It was too hot and too dry.
Now we have wolves in the area. Which means the ladies have to get in on time.
The weather is getting colder, so the grazing season is almost over.
So next year hope the wolves stay away.
Several sheep, cows and a pony have already been attacked and died of their injuries.
A concern for now and the future

Die Amseln frieren.

Die leeren Felder sehnen sich nach Garben.
Die Welt ist schwarz und weiß und ohne Farben.
Und wär so gerne gelb und blau und rot.
Umringt von Kindern wie der Rattenfänger,
tanzt auf dem Eise stolz der Januar.
Der Bussard zieht die Kreise eng und enger.
Es heißt, die Tage würden wieder länger.
Man merkt es nicht. Und es ist trotzdem wahr.
Die Wolken bringen Schnee aus fremden Ländern.
Und niemand hält sie auf und fordert Zoll.
Silvester hörte man’s auf allen Sendern,
dass sich auch unterm Himmel manches ändern
und, außer uns, viel besser werden soll.

Es träumt von Frieden. Oder träumt’s vom Kriege?

We are really going through some different times. I can't help but wonder how we'll come out on the other side. My mother went through the depression, and we were never able to throw something away. At my grandfathers farm, if we took a building apart we had to straighten the nails out.
So, I'm wondering, we will forever be afraid to get close to someone. We will always collect toilet paper..;)

not the most special picture, but my happy from today...i love how the little things bring magic into the day and these sure make me smile and just listening to lady o talk about our socks makes me giggle... can you tell i am tired...all sappy and rambling. helping out the teachers at school, clients, back.to.school schedules...oooh i could use a lovely nap today ;o)

While I was on vacation, I was taking some shot around a marina and I heard this great music coming out of the fish restaurant and I thought, the fish would probably taste amazing since it was right across the street from the marina. When I got to the entrance I could see that the place was packed. The tables couldn't be any closer together and I just couldn't go in. I thought this is crazy. I almost got a plate to go but decided against that as well. I'll be so happy when the world gets back to whatever it was before 19.

This tulip image was taken last year. I liked its gentle, warm colours.

I was digging around in my old photos looking for a fence. And, I found one.

This is an outside beach bar from the Holiday Inn, Corpus Christi/Padre Island, Texas. I was there early trying to get a sunrise shot but I was a little bit late..:( I can't image it being a lot of fun in this place, as it's the windward side of the Island. I was worried about my gear because I could feel sand and spray getting on me.
Looks like we're in for a wet week here.
