C’è un momento in ciascuna alba in cui la luce è come sospesa; un istante magico dove tutto può succedere. La creazione trattiene il suo respiro.

I happened upon this bullfrog with a polliwog too large to make a quick meal of it. Never did see the adult tadpole tail disappear. After an hour the frog moved on to other parts.

Thanks for the visit!
It happens sometimes, that I don't see in the drawings of the sequence of the folding steps, what a designer means. It took me a while before I saw that this Hippopotamus had his mouth width open ;-)

Dobie and I decided to go on a skateboarding adventure in the forest this evening, and we had a grand time wandering about, so much so that we completely lost track of the time. It seemed quicker than two shakes of a raven's tailfeather that dusk was upon us, and we had scampered so far into the woods that we were lost. Getting lost is a recurring theme for me, and yes, it happens in all lives: I have a really bad sense of direction. And on top of that, in SL, I have exceptionally poor navigational skills! So, full disclosure, I didn't actually do any skateboarding. And honestly, the terrain was not really ideal for it even if I was a super skater guru!
Fortunately for us, we happened upon this adorable and very friendly crow, and he kindly told us that we were going in the wrong direction (big surprise, right?!) and set us on the right path. Soon enough we were home again with another adventure to add to our memory album!
Happy, safe weekend, everyone! ♥

“Dentro ogni persona anziana c'è una persona più giovane che si sta chiedendo cosa diavolo sia successo.”

Nějak se stalo, žes uměl mít rád
Tohle ti opravdu nechci zazlívat
Jednu chvíli se to stalo
A že se tohle stalo, není málo

Somehow it happened you knew how to like someone
I really don't want to blame you for this
One moment it happened
That it happened --- is no small thing [Jednu chvíli]
And sooooo after a helluva long time away, me is back! At least in part, been so preoccupied with DIY, Home Improvements and painting, as well as just wanting to take a break from photography, I decided to take advantage of the sudden nice weather after a mild start to Spring. Went for my usual walkabout, which means wondering for miles in no particular direction in search of no particular shot and I accidently happened upon this cemetery.
I have to say, and in well meaning respects, graveyards are actually beautiful places, I do however draw the line somewhat, as I never take shots of actual grave stones identifying people, I never step over nor onto an actual gravesite and always say a quiet thank you, in respects for deceased occupier of the grave.
These flowers were at such an angle I caught the sun rays, which felt like life upon death, hence the word serenade came to mind.
I hope everyone is well and so as always, thank you! :)
Another lovely origami model to fold from a rectangle (1:2). It looks 3D, but is not, the hat is flat.
Something strange happened........looks like a wormhole.....maybe my camera is breaking down...?
Model: origami 'Rabbit in Hat'
Designer: Fred Rohm
Diagrams:
- in the BOS-booklet #50: "The World of Fred Rohm" by Pete
- on the CD: 'The Origami World of Neal Elias' by Dave Venables and Marc Cooman
I folded it from a rectangle 17,5x35cm kamipaper. Final height (ears included) 9,5cm.
Learning how to be still, to really be still and let life happen- that stillness becomes a radiance.

It's been in the news: "This is the first big partial eclipse to happen in the UK since 1999, and the next one isn't until August 2026, so this is a once-in-a-generation opportunity." - So all gear set up and waiting - hoping for a glimpse of that "once-in-a-generation" event...
BUT the weather didn't play by the rules where I live: Muddy skiess all morning... No sun to be seen, let alone the moon trying to cover it up...
Still, with all the gear in place, when the clouds went I decided to do a shot of the sun (background image - HDR'ed) and "post-processed" my moon in with Photoshop afterwards.
Ha: If you cannot rely on UK clear skies, create your own eclipse! ;-)
Made for mental sanity & Sliders Sunday: HSS!
Every year I say no more duckling shots.
Technically therefore I haven't broken my own rule.
Naturally I had approached the local pond in search of goosanders, when I stumbled across these youngsters.

Our Alfie🐈 is today (Sunday August 1th 2021) in urgently,
operated on a bladder obstruction due to bladder stones.
I do hope he will survive 🙏 He is strong but has also 12 years.
Be well our sweetest💕 darling friend!
My love for 12 years passed away on August 5th, 2021
at kidney and liver insufficiency after bladder obstruction.
He was a fighter but has lost his battle....
Now he has passed the rainbow bridge.
We meet again my dearest Alfie, our red tiger! Love you so much!
I waited patiently (10-15 minutes) for the Great Egret to walk / jump / fly onto the back of the American Alligator, but it didn’t happen. Would have made a great picture. Wildlife photography does teach patience. Riverstone Wetlands, Sugar Land, Texas.

I happened to walk by kitchen window and saw this turkey walking around in backyard looking for food. I had to photograph bird through the door window as I could not open door or he would have been gone in a flash. At least the window allowed me to get a few images.
A new life.
My friends,
I created my little (really small) business last Wednesday. In fact, I am the boss and employee. :)
I must say I do not know if I will succeed to earn some money, but one thing is certain, in a week (or two) my website will be there. It is already online but empty now...
I'm scared, really do not know how things will happen...
Have a lovely new weekend...

When the grandkids come over and want chocolate, give them the cheap stuff. Otherwise, this is what happens.
I happened to be in Stillwater on this day, and seeing the nice updates from the peeps in the field about a late transfer from the CN, I decided to take a little detour north before heading home. Managed to hike to the bridge with only about 10 minutes of waiting before this nice trio of matching SDs pulled across in perfect light.
Taking photos of Cleo is beginning to get more difficult again. September arrived and she thought it was time to switch to hibernation mode although during the day it has still beeen summery warm. Hibernation mode means that she moves even less than usual and prefers to sleep in the darkest corners of the house. She hasn't moved into the basement yet but that is likely to happen in the near future. When I took this photo she was lying on her cushion in the living room and refused to move to a place with more light.
