A throw back from the LNWR days of Hamstead station is this platform water hydrant which countless passengers have wandered over in the 100 plus years the station has been open. Captured here with a late running 66424 heading 4E49 Daventry to Doncaster i-Port Tesco company train rattling through. Taken for the P&ARP 112th Assignment and apologies to those that have seen a similar angle before.

LSL's ScotRail push pull set is certainly clocking up the miles of late. Seen here with 47712 Lady Diana Spencer propelling DBSO 9707 towards Hamstead station in the Birmingham suburbs working 5Z47 Crewe H.S. to Kidderminster S.V.R.

I would have seen 60054 on 6B33 Theale to Robeston following this but it was changed at late notice to 6Z33 and sent via Didcot unfortunately. No idea why?

English Electric Type 4 (Class 40) No. D213 (40013) 'Andania' whistles through Hamstead while heading the LSL Chairman's Train, 1Z21 0902 London Euston - Kidderminster SVR on 6th April 2023. This was the opening leg of an easter weekend private charter to Devon & Cornwall. The train had earlier been hauled from Euston to Bescot Up & Down Goods Loop by LSL Class 90 No. 90001 'Royal Scot'. Due to a Desiro bringing down the wires near Brinklow, all WCML traffic was diverted through Birmingham up to 15:00. Flying through Hamstead, 90039 heads south with 0A06 Crewe ETMD to Wembley EFOC.
