Shot of Half Dome at Yosemite National Park in the foreground, and Clouds Rest peak in the background.
Half Dome is a granite dome in Yosemite National Park, located in northeastern Mariposa County, California, at the eastern end of Yosemite Valley — possibly Yosemite's most familiar rock formation. The granite crest rises more than 4,737 ft (1,444 m) above the valley floor.
I never get tired of looking at Yosemite. The way Half Dome and the surrounding terrain looks from Glacier Point, you can easily see how the glacier cut right through there and left the path we see in this picture. It took several million years, but what's left is amazing and magnificent.
We all went to this new location that I had not known about. I think it was called, "Behing the grocery store" Halfdome shot. Well, halfdome never came out from under the clouds so I decided to do a pano. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
I've uploaded a few more images from the last Yosemite trip simply to show a few more of the wonderful vistas this park provides.

From a 2008-05 trip into the SierraNevada range.
Last night's full moon in Yosemite was incredibly beautiful!! There is magic in the moonlight, especially when there is fresh snow everywhere! This is a 1-minute exposure, looking over the Merced river from Sentinel Bridge, as the moon shines bright above Half Dome.

We went to the iconic Yosemite National Park with destination Half Dome. It's a strenuous 18 miles (29 km) roundtrip hike with 4800 feet (1500 m) altitude gain.
We are reaching Half Dome. The final climb is very steep, up to 45 degrees. To make it easier there are cables to hold on to.
I processed an balanced HDR photo from a RAW exposure, and carefully adjusted the curves and color balance.
