Hale in thw White Mountains is part of NH48 peak bagging list

Hale Head Lighthouse was built to guide ships into the Upper Mersey. It is the most southerly point in Lancashire.

Strong evening sunlight here last night

The traditional southernmost point of the county of Lancashire...before the powers that be messed all the counties about : This ceased to be a working lighthouse in 1958, and is now a rather isolated private home, with fine views of the Mersey Estuary.

It took me 8 months to learn enough Photoshop to process these photos shot directly into the sun from the Galata Tower in Istanbul.

Comprised of two sets of 3 bracketed exposures HDR blended and merged into a panorama in Lightroom. Preliminary post processing in Lightroom, then exposure blended in Photoshop along with rays of light and dodging.

Thank you very much for your kind comments and faves.

Halation is the distinct, organic glow characteristic of classic analogue film stocks, where bright highlights bleed softly into surrounding darker areas.

As I understand it, this effect occurs when bright light reflects off the film backing, causing highlights to bleed softly into adjacent darker areas creating a halo effect - a glow.

I used Color Efex 9: halation

In this example I processed the colour RAW, adjusted the halation colour from the conventional red to blue, exported and converted to B&W in Silver Efex 9 boosting the blue channel

House of the moon

Moon setting over the cloud covered West Maui Mountain (Komohana or Kahalawai) on Christmas morning.

Ancient Hawaiians named places for several reasons. One was to describe the geography or events. I like to call the West Maui Mountain Hale Mahina. Depending on where you are, it will appear to disappear behind it.

The last of a trio of Hale shots.

Beautiful afternoon walk around Hale Lighthouse (Liverpool), with the Wirral in the background. Lovely autumn colours.

A very Grey and wet day at Hale beach and light house.

This is my first time eating with The Halal Guys. It was delicious and very filling. You'll find this chain predominantly in the United States, as well as in some places in Canana. You may even run into one in South Korea, Philippines and in Jakarta.

Northern Pacer 142023 stands in the platform at Hale working 2H33, 11:55 Chester – Manchester Piccadilly, 23rd October 2018.

The station was opened as Peel Causeway on the 12th May 1862, became Peel Causeway for Hale on the 1st January 1899, and on the 1st January 1902 it was renamed Hale. The station buildings, canopies and signal box are a Grade II listed building.

Unit History

The Class 142 (Pacer) was built by British Rail Engineering in Derby between 1985 and 1987 and the train body is based on that of the Leyland National bus. 142023 is from the first batch of fifty units, built in 1985/86 and amazingly, for what was at the time a cheap and nasty stopgap, is still going strong after well over thirty years service. It also one of thirteen units (142015 – 142027) that were delivered in “chocolate and cream” livery and allocated to Plymouth for use on the Cornish Branches. They were not a success on these duties and were soon transferred north to Neville Hill/Newton Heath.

hale light house saterday morning; before the storm.

I'm not sure about this one, if it's too soft and too awful romantic

looking?

It came out a bit overexposed and therefore a lot of glowing halation in it.

Halestorm's drummer Arejay Hale beats the skins with his huge drumsticks at the Westfair Amphitheater in Council Bluffs, Iowa, hosted by rock radio station, 89.7 The River. What an incredible show by the band.
