RML890 passes the former London Transport bus garage in June 1987, some six years after closure. By this time, it was being used to house local authority vehicles. A Lidl supermarket now occupies the site in Well Street.

68009 passes Hackney Wick in the pouring rain while working 5Z55 Norwich to Wolverton, due to overrunning engineering works at Ipswich this train was diverted via Ely, Cambridge and the West Anglia mainline. (26/08/14)

The Hackney Cut is an artificial channel of the Lee Navigation built in England in 1769 by the River Lea Trustees to straighten and improve the Navigation. It begins at the Middlesex Filter Beds Weir, below Lea Bridge, and is situated in the London Borough of Hackney.
