Hack D100 board assembly of the components.
To operate the shutter D100, I need a custom driver. Nothing special, just a few fets and one input are needed. I could make it easier but this version is more generally applicable. I also have all components in stock. There is no extra cost. The PCB etching is only one hour of work. The signals are sufficiently available in my FPGA module. Adjusting the program is a routine task.
From the D100 camera I use only the shutter itself and the sequence motor. As an input signal, there is a switch available when the shutter is fully open. if closed then I stop the sequence motor. 2 extra magnets provide the timing for the shutter itself. A very simple task.

Got this piece in the as-is section of our ikea for a song.
Since it doesn't match the room I want to hang it in, I'm just coloring over it with acrylic paints. It's fun! It reminds me of this type of velvet poster marker art.
I am secretly envious when children sit down and color. Now I get to do it, too! At nearly 3 feet in diameter, this project will keep me busy for a while.

It seems they'll hack anything these days, including the digital image processor in my Canon A710 IS. Thanks to a firmware update I can now save RAW files from my compact (yes RAW, on a compact!) and play Reversi. One of those two things is more useful than the other.
There are loads of other features unleashed too, if you have a Canon A710 or one of the other cameras with the same image processor you can upgrade your firmware too. The firmware update isn't permenant it's stored on the memory card, so if you decide you don't need the extra features simply remove the files.

Hack quad is basically a machine you can use to simulate free weight squats. This exercise primairly works quads and if you do the proper range of motion, it also works your butt. I personally preper doing hack squats over normal squats because #1 it takes away the pain of supporting the barbell on your shoulders and #2 allows you to focus more on doing a proper range of motion, rather then balance and pain. The key to proper form is to get a full range of motion. Most people will only go down until their knees form a 90 degree ankle, when in fact, proper form is going as low as you can until you start to feel the heels of you feet coming off the ground. There are two major variation; #1 you keep your feet straight, which works the outter quads more and #2 you open your stance and point your toes outwards, focusing more on the inner quad muscles. Either way make sure that you back in always flush against the back support, otherwise you will increase your risk of injury.
