My old PC case, featuring some practical hacks. The machine is now outdated and unused, but I thought it worthwhile to document it for posterity.

The Paulaner & Hacker-Pschorr brewery in Munich at the Nockherberg.

Those copper brewing kettles are still in use. There were about ten of them in this room, one next to another. It was so warm.

And it smelled awesome!

I slightly hacked an IKEA Bonde entertainment center (TV bench with hutch and two side bookshelves) to fit a 55" TV. It's wide enough, but not tall enough, and the birch color isn't to my taste.

Step 3 was to restain all the desired pieces. I used regular Minwax stain in red chestnut color. It's a bit redder in real life than the photo shows. I'll put regular polyurethane (I want the slight yellowing effect) on it tomorrow. We decided to stain only the exterior surfaces of the unit and leave the interior surfaces birch. It saves a lot of work and should look fine.

Note - the manufacturer-recommended sanding between coats of polyurethane was a big mistake. There's just not enough wood in that thin laminate to tolerate another sanding, and I ended up taking the stain back off in several spots before aborting the sanding operation.
