An Eastern Kingbird (Tyrannus tyrannus) surveys the neighborhood from a high pine tree perch. And just for fun, I'll add that it's best not to mess with this guy. See below. :-)

"The scientific name Tyrannus means “tyrant, despot, or king,” referring to the aggression kingbirds exhibit with each other and with other species," says the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
