Wie Falten zeichnen sich die Furchen der Rinde ab, eine riesige Narbe prägt das "Gesicht" dieses alten Apfelbaumes. Irgendwie finde ich, Charakterportraits und Baumfotografie hat viel gemeinsam.

As autumn quickly sets in, I find this to be a place of reflection. This series will deal with some of the big events of 2022 for me, some of the loss, and hopefully allow me to process on a deeper level. I think this series should lend itself to what the experience of life is. If nothing else, I hope you enjoy the journey.
As I continue to reflect.. I also know that I was lucky to have fallen a couple times this year. Helps me know that this ole' tin man still has a heart, because I feel it beating. There is nothing more profound than the exact right person wandering into your life at the exact right time. I love, cherish, and enjoy those moments.

I had VIP privileges and was pulled onto the floor next to Buddy Guy and got some awesome shots + was directly behind him in his parade back onto the stage ... what a night!!!
The Little Kanawa River Railroad's EMD SW locomotive switches Cardinal Concrete in Parkersburg, WV. This little 2 mile short line had more than it's hands full during much of my visit to the area.

I have no idea which type of Mushroom this is.

I saw this male bear several times while staying in Finland last summer, and every time he made a big impression, especially when appearing from behind a tree; I was extremely glad to be in a secure hide. The guides reckoned he was approximately 450kg, which is 5 times my weight. Individuals have been recorded at a whopping 650kg; the mind boggles. He was a relatively recent visitor to the area, and they thought he was fairly relaxed, but they did not want to meet him in the forest on foot!
