This Cooper's Hawk male is sitting on a lamp post on the river footbridge to our best park, just moments before he flew out 200 meters to quickly subdue a much bigger bird than him on a low area of the river. People who were admiring him on the bridge were horrified, and I do not blame them.
These two characters live next door and we've become good friends during the lockdown period. They were hatched and raised by my neighbour and they crave human company especially a stroke of the head and a cuddle. In this case at least, appearances are very deceptive!
He's quick and always ready to draw :)

Part of my time off was also spent at the Iowa State Fair where I enjoyed a horse riding shooting contest. This is one of the photos I took from it.
The gunslinger gambling way of life. Practice on a hot dusty day makes the draw fast and the aim true. Cause you got to know when holdem and know when to pull em as Kenny would say. Les Salines can be assured that no bottle is safe in this town with Sheriff Max on duty.

I was inspired by the Dark Tower series by Stephen King. This is my interpretation of the Gunslinger. My subject would not stop moving, and shooting at night is a pain in the tail.
