Army Air Corps AH-64 Apache taking its bow at the end of an amazing display at RAF Cosford Airshow 2017

four spotted skimmer

Part of the shoot from last night. I couldn't get the tv wave lines quiet right but it's a work in progress. Very inspired by the band/album GUNSHIP.

This was born from a fun game of telephone starting with a simple stud.io file which was passed on every 48 hours. Each builder could add as much as they’d like (within reason) before shifting the file to the next builder! Seeing how everyone’s distinct style was incorporated and transitions were negotiated was such a joy!

Shoutout to George for getting this started, and to Leo, Laurenz, Erik, Mike, and Hazel for all they added!

The Gurdergen tend to avoid battles, getting others to do their work for them. This sturdy gunship, designed for convoy protection and ground attack, is an exception to that rule. Although not the most nimble, it is tough and packs a punch, giving the aquatic-merchant people some bite when they need it.

This little build grew out of the desire to try out SuperHardcoreDave's cool missile nose cone design.

It ended up being fairly realistic, which is unusual for me. It even has a NOTAR system and landing gear.

Built this hangar in collaboration with Jetbricks, which was a lot of fun, I documented it in a build log on YouTube.

Happy building!

Mil Mi-24 Superhind Mk5 "Krokodil" Heavy Helicopter Gunship (Krokodil = Crocodile, Russian)

--------------------

An even more massive and destructive beast than the previous variant. A beast of a helicopter, it is equipped with engines twice as powerful as it's predecessor, enormous turboshaft engines used to turn the two contra-rotational rotors, and two more on the sides are used as backup, more power, and speed making this newer variant good even when fully loaded with people and munitions. Their exhaust is also used for the NOTAR system built into this huge bird.

It is equipped with new equipment ranging from imaging and sensors to radar and weapons. A new camera system is attached to the nose for more accurate gunning, along with eye tracking equipment so that the user can aim simply by pointing their eyes. The new, durable, gatling cannon is now equipped with more than four times the ammunition than it's predecessor.

It can still transport 10 people, not including the pilots, but it can do so at a speed more than two times faster than the previous variant due to it's new engines. It is now considered one of the fastest transport helicopters in the world, setting aside the fact that it can both transport and gunship at the same time.

It isn't that much of a stealthy helicopter, however, but it does feature a slightly reduced RCS. It features two wings with 4 pylons each, and 2 pylons on the bottom of the body. It's wings can give the helo around 15% of it's lift. The outermost pylons can only be equipped with air-to-air missiles, and it's underbody pylons only with either remote controlled autocannons or free-fall bombs. The 6 free pylons underneath the wings can be outfitted with rocket pods, guided missiles, autocannons, bombs, air-to-air missiles, sensor equipment, and more.

It is able to deliver long range missile strikes if a friendly unit in the area guides it (infantrymen can use their on-chest computers.)

As a latest addition, they are equipped with a powerful anti-missile laser equipped in the nose along with imaging suite and a detachable TLS built under the cockpit area aside from other weapon systems.

Posed dynamically on the display stand. I got those large figure guns to use as engine greebles. but they proved to be too large, protruding beyond the leading edge of the wings. So they became part of the display stand instead.

Say what you like about AotC but some of the vehicle design was amazing.

I've wanted to make the LAATi for a while, I was invited to give a talk to the LondonAFOLs LUG and it gave me an excuse to built it and give a talk about how I put it together.

Dunsfold wings and wheels

The Nimrud Gunship, named for the great hunter, serves the Aku Partnership as a fast attack and perimeter security helicopter. Coaxial rotors leave room in the aft for a push rotor, greatly increasing airspeed for lighting fast CAS. Equipped with modular weapon systems affixed to the winglets as well as an integral rotary cannon at the front, the Nimrud has few rivals.

HUGE shoutout to Tobias and Everette for helping me finish this, and take some amazing photos. Video of the rotor mechanism in action coming soon!

based on some concept art and the thing from the movies. Should be pretty cool. Very similar to the Elysium helicopter in terms of its rounded construction and heavy snot interior.

I used the frame of my castor starfighter for this one. First real build for this summer :)

This build was inspired by the pejite gunship from Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind.

Hello there !

Have built this 2 years ago but never posted it on Flickr. This last couple years, i have pretty much stopped building lego prioritising other thing in life. Hope you are all doing well in life.

About the build now : Pretty happy how that one turned out, i have worked a lot on that ship before it finally looked acceptable.

Let me know what you think of it.

I may retake a better picture later.

would not want to be at the receiving end of that artillery..!!

The spaceship was created because I wanted to create something beautiful. The project was born from love to sci - fi. This is my first MOC after the DA.

Aerial display at the RNAS Yeovilton Airshow

A common tactic against this heavily protected machine is completely avoiding any possible encounters.

I just HAD to use those awesome organic-looking Bionicle pieces for this.

Im not too sold on the belly or the tail yet... Still needs fins and a rotor for the tail.

Raingun Gunship thingy

Detail montage coming tomorrow or sth.

Fun Fact: This photo is barely edited, I just desaturated the background and added the typography. But the process of photography was annoying af.
