hope it works.
We have a cool front coming in that hopefully will bring some rain beginning of next week. We sure could use it
Hop-A-Long is back today, much to the chagrin of the little birds, as you can see on his talons

Blaubeuren is a fantastic place where the river that flows from the Blautopf has all this wonderful colors. On the return I've just found this view, almost like evoking one of the Grimms' fairy tales.

Macro Mondays challenge 2/4/18: Back In The Day.
The chances are they are still used but it's got to be rare (it's a typewriter!)
Anybody spot the deliberate mistake? That's right, I wasn't using the "o" key for this picture. That and the fact there is no ribbon...
Sorry but apparently there's only so much chocolate you should eat...
And mom was letting him know it wasn't a moment too soon. She was getting hangry and so were the babies.
I went to visit my osprey nest with one of my older brothers yesterday and was so happy to see all is well there. They actually have two little babies in the nest, barely big enough to poke their heads high enough to be seen. But don't worry, I still got pictures of them. I'll be posting pictures of them, too, here in the near future so stay tuned
:-)

Don't you just love these beautiful birds? I do!!! Although, the one that visits my yard on occasion is not my most welcomed guest.
Most of my visitors are given a name as many of you know. This beauty has been named Grimm. He is here to eat the Koi. Or at least to kill them. So far, he has managed to kill a couple of them. However, he leaves them without eating them. Why would he do that? It's a bit baffling to me. I do love him but, because of his bad behavior, I have set up deterrents around the pond.
They seem to be working. The deterrents are simply motion sensor water sprayers. If he walks in the path of one, it detects the motion and rotates while spraying water. He usually takes off when this happens.
Another deterrent is a motion-activated ring camera that makes an announcement "Hi you are being recorded." The voice spooks him a bit and he leaves the area.
Of course, the deterrents don't stop him from returning to see if the coast is clear. But his visits are further between. He is also not a fan of the Camera so if I am here when he arrives, I am more than happy to take a few snaps and see if he will simply depart. Oh, the drama!
Have a wonderful day and happy snapping.
"Grimm Tales" was the theme of this years Halloween Boutique at Roger's Gardens. This figure was the symbol of the event but I'm not sure who he's supposed to be. I like his style.
The Tale of the Bremen Town Musicians
A fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm
The story of the Bremen Town Musicians tells of four rejected animals (a donkey, a dog, a cat and a rooster), who are no longer useful to their owners and are therefore to be killed. Each animal manages to escape, but does not know what to do next. Because the animals think they can sing well, the donkey comes up with the idea of moving to Bremen to live as street musicians.
On the way, they stay in a forest and come across a robbers' den. By standing on each other and each making their own animal sound, they frighten the robbers and are able to take possession of the house. They enjoy the food and drink that the robbers have left behind and spend the night in the house. At night, one of the robbers returns. They manage to scare him off for good by each using their own strength. The gang of robbers then think that it is haunted and leave the house for good. The animals decide to stay in the house as a new Family.
The End.

This doesn't look good...
Slowly creeping out of 312 right down the middle is the outbound Tucson hunk of junk once they get over a switch on the other side of the overpass they'll triple over 307 to their mid trains in 308 and finally head east after that. After they clear up it's Union Pacific 8775's turn as it waits to head north for Roseville no doubling over no nonsense straight out of 815; didn't stick around to see when the BNSF would leave flags where still up but it's the typical haul to Barstow. And then there's the inbound Tucson on main one mid trains and all in frame as the headend ducks under Riverside Avenue.
Sat around for nearly two hours no Trim moves no Roustabouts, when I called it a might one track remained...
