Blaubeuren is a fantastic place where the river that flows from the Blautopf has all this wonderful colors. On the return I've just found this view, almost like evoking one of the Grimms' fairy tales.

Rothenburg ob der Tauber is a town in the district of Ansbach of Mittelfranken (Middle Franconia), the Franconia region of Bavaria, Germany.
It is well known for its well-preserved medieval old town, a destination for tourists from around the world. It is part of the popular Romantic Road through southern Germany. Today it is one of only three towns in Germany that still have completely intact city walls, the other two being Nördlingen and Dinkelsbühl.
The impressive fortification was built at the end of the 16th century in the form of a figure of eight. The bastion has two flanks, seven gates, a portcullis, a drawbridge and a parapet suitable for cannons.
Rothenburg was a Free imperial city from the late Middle Ages to 1803. In 1884 Johann Friedrich (von) Hessing (1838–1918) built Wildbad Rothenburg o.d.T. 1884–1903.
Rothenburg has appeared in several films, notably fantasies. It was the inspiration for the village in the 1940 Walt Disney movie Pinocchio.
It was the location for the Vulgarian village scenes in the 1968 family movie, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
It is sometimes mistaken as the town at the end of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971); that town was Nördlingen.
The town served as a loose basis for the fictional town of Lebensbaum ("life tree") in the video game Shadow of Memories (Shadow of Destiny in the American market).
Pictures of the town were used in some parts of "The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm" and the trailer for the film. The camera flies over the town from the direction of the valley towards the Town Hall.
A plaque exists on the rebuilt town wall to commemorate this. Filming was done in Rothenburg for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 (2010) and Part 2 (2011).

Don't you just love these beautiful birds? I do!!! Although, the one that visits my yard on occasion is not my most welcomed guest.
Most of my visitors are given a name as many of you know. This beauty has been named Grimm. He is here to eat the Koi. Or at least to kill them. So far, he has managed to kill a couple of them. However, he leaves them without eating them. Why would he do that? It's a bit baffling to me. I do love him but, because of his bad behavior, I have set up deterrents around the pond.
They seem to be working. The deterrents are simply motion sensor water sprayers. If he walks in the path of one, it detects the motion and rotates while spraying water. He usually takes off when this happens.
Another deterrent is a motion-activated ring camera that makes an announcement "Hi you are being recorded." The voice spooks him a bit and he leaves the area.
Of course, the deterrents don't stop him from returning to see if the coast is clear. But his visits are further between. He is also not a fan of the Camera so if I am here when he arrives, I am more than happy to take a few snaps and see if he will simply depart. Oh, the drama!

"Grimm Tales" was the theme of this years Halloween Boutique at Roger's Gardens. This figure was the symbol of the event but I'm not sure who he's supposed to be. I like his style.
The Tale of the Bremen Town Musicians
A fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm
The story of the Bremen Town Musicians tells of four rejected animals (a donkey, a dog, a cat and a rooster), who are no longer useful to their owners and are therefore to be killed. Each animal manages to escape, but does not know what to do next. Because the animals think they can sing well, the donkey comes up with the idea of moving to Bremen to live as street musicians.
On the way, they stay in a forest and come across a robbers' den. By standing on each other and each making their own animal sound, they frighten the robbers and are able to take possession of the house. They enjoy the food and drink that the robbers have left behind and spend the night in the house. At night, one of the robbers returns. They manage to scare him off for good by each using their own strength. The gang of robbers then think that it is haunted and leave the house for good. The animals decide to stay in the house as a new Family.

Der Schwarzwald ist eine an Frankreich grenzende Gebirgsregion im Südwesten Deutschlands. Bekannt ist er für seine dichten, immergrünen Wälder und malerischen Dörfer. Häufig wird er mit den Märchen der Gebrüder Grimm in Verbindung gebracht. Der Schwarzwald ist berühmt für seine Heilbäder und die Kuckucksuhren, die seit dem 18. Jahrhundert in der Region produziert werden. Größte Stadt der Region ist das von Weinbergen umgebene Freiburg. Hier können Besucher zahlreiche gotische Gebäude bewundern. Wikipedia
Ich musste zwar ein bisschen kämpfen bis ich die Erlaubnis hatte, aber es hat sich wohl gelohnt.

Today was, finally, after fortnight of rains and bad weather pleasant, sunny, warmer day with a real taste of autumn. The summer is now finally over and the winter is indeed coming!
for a couple reasons. One being that in the 5 times I've been to Battle, I don't think i've ever seen an eagle there. And second, we were heading back upriver after a couple hours of bear watching. Going back to camp is always with the motor, we're going pretty fast, it's bumpy, so not best conditions for shooting something like this.
But I could see in the distance on the riverbank, something fairly large and brown, which I could tell wasn't a bear and figured out pretty quickly it was an eagle. So I pointed my camera at it, focused and started shooting, hoping for the best.
I got about 8 frames or so, all fairly decent shots considering the conditions. I was thankful for a camera that can shoot 14fps with fast auto focus capabilities and my lens's stabilization technology.
So I was pretty happy to get this
A new location with new tales to tell in the coming months. I have been scouting recently and have at last managed a scout to a new area only 20 minutes from home. And I am kicking myself for not doing it earlier, it is a hill climb to get there almost 300 M higher than any where else. Thus the snow. But as this scene tells its all worth it.
I am a Oak and Birch tree fan, but locally I have adapted to like the Pines, Firs and Beech. No choice in the matter really, but slowly I am accepting it with in my Woodland Photography.
