Towards the end of 1995 resident Black 5, 44806, was starting to look very weathered and is seen here looking quite authentic with a four coach train from Llangollen to Carrog.
Pentre Felin just after 1 o'clock on a cold and frosty December afternoon.

Amazingly out of all of my travels to Quebec, very few days were of this type of disappointing weather. When a sour day would happen along I'd usually head to the Canadian National main line at Drummondville, Quebec. At least there I could grab a greasy road side burger, read a bit and let the action come to me while sitting in the car out of the elements. Also, the CN may just throw anything at you during this era of the late eighties. On this day the rain was hard. The local power resides in front of the depot as an eastbound hammers by on the main with a typical grimey wide cab, but wait! The trailing units are of MLW descent! Whoa is me.....at least the burgers are better than any burgers of public availability I've ever had.

These laid back islands aren't my ideal place for a vacation (especially with all them mosquitos flying around) but it had one or two sites that stood out as magnificent.
I was only in Oahu for 2 days waiting for a transfer flight to Haneda (Tokyo), but within that time I managed to get several shots worthy to edit. This particular one was taken in the late hours of the day at ʻĀweoweo Beach Park (always pickin' mouthful-of-a-names). I could practically hear the steel drums running through my mind.
I realized I had a real opportunity to get beautiful skies, so I made the color of the sky a lot more profound then the original shot (which was a bit more bleak, which for someplace like Hawaii just wouldn't fit aesthetically) Only issue were the palm trees in the back, at first I liked having it silhouetted, but as I continued to edit, something about it just felt unnatural, tried tracing around the mask to add a new layer, but the task proved way too precise.
The nearby town of Waialua is also real pretty for anyone in the area. It's far from the grimey streets of Honolulu (which is trying too hard to look like a 48 state major city at this point), and instead it embraces it's south pacific style roots and looks like it came out of a Polynesian background. Very nice.
The Bacon Curve, links the East Suffolk & Great Eastern Lines, forming a triangle. This opened to revenue earning traffic, in April 2014. The point of this curve is to divert freight away from the London end of the GEML to provide more space for passenger trains. Intermodal traffic for Central, Northern England & Scotland will all eventually use this curve.
The Bacon Curve sits on land which used to house the Harris Bacon Factories, hence the name, 'Bacon Curve'. The whole scene is surrounded on every side by various Industrial Estates and areas.

Grimey Biffa livery 66783 'The Flying Dustman' with a consignment of sand in MXA 'red lobster' wagons forms 6O41 10.14 Westbury yard-Eastleigh yard on 10/02/21. I thought sand for track renewal / drainage work was loaded in Eastleigh yard ?? so an unwanted load or a fresh delivery !

For some reason when attempting to find where I took this photo I kept confusing the Kabukicho Tower and the Toho Cinema Tower cause they're so close to eachother. This area in the building doesn't even have a tag as far as I'm aware on google maps.
This was on the second floor where this indoor eatery shared a floor with a massive techno dance floor, overlooking from above is the massive Namco Tokyo, where many arcade hits from the age range from PAC-MAN to Mario Kart Arcade is.
For how relatively seedy and ratty Shinjuku tends to look, the themed entertainment here seems to compliment it without looking as grimey. Actually sat down to have some chicken skewers and they tasted pretty strong (in a good way).
As you'd probably expect there were still people walking around so this shot proved a bit of a challenge. I couldn't (and in all honesty wouldn't) have an AI remove huge pieces of the image, I had to get every detail down to a tee even if the removal tool didn't understand what I wanted it to fill in the tiny spaces with people in them.
