A flock of crows drew me to this place but by the time I got out of the truck and got my camera and set up they flew away! I was so disappointed when they flew away, they are just out of the frame. Crows are very spooky because they get shot at all the time! But it was still a beautiful scene.

Château-Chalon, Jura, Franche-Comté.
Château-Chalon is a French wine-growing commune located in the department of the Jura department, in the Franche-Comté region. A major tourist destination in the Jura, the commune is classified among a select group of villages which hold the accolade of the most beautiful villages in France. The village is perched on a rocky spur and towers over the vineyards and surrounding plains below. This is where savagnin is grown, a grape variety specific to Jura. It produces one of the world's best wines, the famous vin jaune (yellow wine) which is produced nowhere else in the world.
Fishing boats at Greers Quay. The Quay is located just outside Omeath in Ireland on the main road to Carlingford.
The entrance road in Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park follows Greer Gulley up to the cave, The road, built by the CCC, is part of Lewis and Clark Caverns Historic Distric as is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Rocky Mountain Juniper (Juniperas sopulorum), Limber Pine ( Pinus flexilis) and Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) grow in Greers Gulley and up the slopes.

UP 8446 leads an impressive lashup of 8 EMDs as it makes its way south with the MNYPU (North Yard (Denver), CO - Pueblo, CO) near Fountain, CO.
The rear 5 units are SD9043MACs on their way to storage in Pueblo. I'm not the biggest UP fan on the planet (ask Wes Greer), but it's hard to pass up 8 EMDs, especially when the lead unit is an ACe. All I had with me was my iPhone, so I had to make due...

Cascade de Syratu, Mouthier-Haute-Pierre, Doubs, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, France.
Autumn colour at it's peak in the Jura mountains in France. Downstream from the Cascade de Syratu the outflow joins the much larger Loue river and continues down the valley. Beautiful colours which needed little editing and just a touch of Orton.

Greer Spring is the second largest spring in the Ozarks that flows in to the Eleven Point National Scenic River, and actually doubles the size of the river. Greer Spring averages 200 million gallons of water per day. The spring emerges from two different locations that are a few hundred feet from each other. The upper outlet of Greer Spring exits from a small cave called Greer Spring Cave. The larger lower outlet is a huge spring boil in the middle of the spring branch. From this point the water flows approximately 1.25 miles towards the Eleven Point River at a gradient of 62 feet. Walking the trail to where the spring is around a mile hike. It was designated a National Natural Landmark in 1980.
One of the enlightening aspects about going to protests is hearing different perspectives from various speakers. This past Saturday was pretty exceptional and everyone who spoke was passionate and intelligent. Such talented well meaning people should be speaking to millions. Instead, we have a president who has trouble forming complete sentences and just threatens everyone. It's embarrassing to say the least and dangerous as well.
I wouldn't consider myself religious at this point in my life but I believe in the practice of kindness towards all people and I think that's something to aim towards and live by.

Driving north from Alton Missouri on Highway 19 we saw a sign for Greer Spring Trail head. We looked it up on in our Eleven Point River Visitor guide and found out that the trail to the spring was about one mile in length. So off we went down down down through three switchbacks, and a flight of stairs to the spring. What a treat it was. One of the most preserved and remote of all the springs in Missouri. Its said to double the flow of the Eleven Point River where it joins about 1 mile from the spring.
