Revelation 18:14 “And the fruit of your soul's desire has gone from you, and all things delicate and shining have come to an end and will never again be seen.”
My husband bought me this sign. I thought it was adorable and had to display it the moment it was gifted to me. :)

I have been craving spring so badly. I blame my Flickr friends for posting their beautifully detailed butterflies and delicate flowers. Haha! Usually, around here, winter goes from at least November until May. By my calculations I will have to live vicariously through the rest of your spring and summer shots for another 3 months or so. Hopefully they will help me make it through my winter blues!

2 weeks ago they had 2-inch stems. With all of the rain we've had recently and some Miracle Gro spikes in the soil, my Alliums are growing by leaps and bounds. Pretty soon the crowns will be nice purple globes.
Have an awesome weekend everyone.
Bougainvillea with pink blooms is a popular variety of this vibrant and hardy flowering plant. The pink variety typically has striking, bright pink or magenta-colored bracts (the colorful leaves that surround the tiny, less conspicuous flowers). These plants are known for their ability to add a burst of color to gardens, patios, and landscapes, especially in warm, tropical, or subtropical climates.
Summer clippings replanted, bloomed indoors during Christmas weekend. Bosslady certainly has a green thumb
Flower gardens of the Olana State Historic Site located in Greenport, New York, near the city of Hudson. The estate was home to Frederic Edwin Church, one of the major figures in the Hudson River school of landscape painting.
One of the many beautiful estate's dotted along the upper Hudson river valley, thant are National parks, or Private trusted museums.
Indoor gardener - that's who I am. Taking care of my plants - is my deep passion. I love them, and this little Cypress plant - is one of the dearest.
You know, room Cypress, does not tolerate dry air in the room. So, we had a hard time with dried branches last spring. It took frequent spraying, watering and a lot of love, of course, to deal with it.

Early morning sunglight. Working on my green thumb. I planted these seeds 2wks ago. Finally some sign of life. If I'm successful, I'll have lavender soon.
“I can't live where I want to,
I can't go where I want to go,
I can't do what I want to,
I can't even say what I want to.
I decided I was a very stupid fool not to at least paint
as I wanted to.”
― Georgia O'Keeffe
A peek at a corner of my back garden. The white blossoms on the right are scented Mock Orange & the climbing, pink roses are so beautifully perfumed. Wish you could smell them all.
Tomorrow is the first day of spring 2022. It won't be long now before we see these flowers outdoors. These are from my purple shamrocks (Oxalis Triangularis) that have started to flower, always in time for St. Patrick's day.
Newly planted trumpet vine is hanging behind this old chair before it grabs on and starts to cover it for the summer growth...I know the hummingbirds are watching!
This gorgeous, deep red Hibiscus shrub, was blooming in my Mom's front garden! At one point there must have been over 50 blossoms, such a joy to behold!
A small, sweet section of my Mom's garden! The bright, pink shrub behind the lovely statues is an Azalea.
Hope Inspiring Resplendent Roses & Blossoms At Blessed Home Long Island, New York, Day Before My Birthday 2012 - IMRAN®
A dozen years ago before I penned these words in 2024, the rose bushes at my blessed home on Long Island, New York, were in full, glorious bloom. It was the early summer of 2012, the day before my 50th birthday.
The tornadoes and droughts of total economic meltdown, brought on by the policies of Republican President George W. Bush which enriched the super-wealthy with one trillion dollars of tax cuts, had wreaked havoc on my life as on millions of ordinary individuals, families, and entire towns. The next few years were spent on surviving, recovering, and rebuilding. Even then it was a rocky road.
By the time 2012 rolled in, after a labyrinthine journey of heart-sinking troughs, fleeting peaks, and unexpected drops into new valleys, life began to hint at a promising change ahead. I had to remind myself that life’s most exquisite blooms often come accompanied by the piercing thorns of reality.
The key is to persistently tend to one’s garden of dreams, rooting it in unshakeable faith, nurturing it with the water of hope, showering it with the rain of love, fortifying it with the grains of gratitude, and ceaselessly illuminating it with the lights of confidence, and perseverance.
No matter the adversities you face, remember, they are but temporary. You possess the strength to surmount them. Never let go of your dreams. Never relinquish your authentic self. Within you lies an indomitable spirit. You are capable of blooming despite the thorns. Are you ready to live the life you dream of?

So, this is it, the last of the series and a job finally done! Actually today proved to be one of the most challenging shots of the year due to the gale force winds that were playing havoc with my camera and paper finish line.
When I started 365 days ago I was hoping to improve my camera skills and keep the daily postings (mildly) interesting. Except for a few "off days" I have achieved the results that I wanted. The camera is not this big scary gadget with loads of buttons on it anymore, and I surprised myself that I am more creative that I ever thought I could be. Although having said that, some of my favourite shots have been taken with the 'point-and-shoot' which proves to me you don't necessarily have to have a fancy camera to take great photos.
I don't have great lighting tools so I had to use the bright light of Southern Spain to my advantage adding pressure to take pictures in day light. Maybe 1 or 2 shots were taken before noon, showing what I already knew,I'm not a morning person!
In all fairness I couldn't have done this on my own, I had so much support and help and I would like to thank in no particular order: Our sweetest dog Els who helped me on days where I just couldn't pull it off and always added that extra 'cute' factor; she seems to have gotten a fan club all of her own this year! My amazing partner Adrian who apart from giving me the camera and pushing me to do this project, has given me so much inspiration, acquired new found editing skills along the way and most of all exercised patience in the face of adversity. And finally the person who inspired me to do this 365-project and got me interested in photography in the first place is my dear friend Joe . Thank you B! Hope to see you soon, we miss you guys so much it's been way too long.
Last but by no means least, I would like to thank all my contacts and people who have given feedback on my daily pictures; I loved them all and you have really motivated me to keep going.
I don't think I will do another 365days again but I am hooked on Flickr so I am here to stay.
Finally...my lilac bush has lots of actual blooms on it this year! woo-hoo! For several years, there was nothing but green; then last year, there were maybe 3-5 blooms...now this year--JACKPOT! My mom (Deanie Greenthumbs whose plants grow to the size of giants) kept telling me that it took several years for lilac bushes to "age" enough for blooms...I'm thrilled that they're here (and that I don't have to be patient anymore :) They smell great!
Handle With Care for Macro Mondays
I don't have a green thumb. Every time I plant flower seeds, they don't come out.
Last week, I planted new seeds in my flowerpot. Now there are some small sprouts! I wonder if they will grow well....
Macro mondays theme inheritance. My grandmother grew roses, my mother grew flowers and I love growing everything. Third generation green thumb.
