The Great Bridestones in Stansfield Moor, West Yorkshire.

Close to the Long Causeway and just east of Todmorden, West Yorkshire, are the Great Bridestones, outcrops of millstone grit rocks and boulders which are ½ a mile long. Amongst these rocky outcrops are a number of odd-shaped formations that have been caused by weather-related erosion over thousands, if not millions of years.

A woman walked down to the shore of the green space with her dog, off leash. The dog proceeded to run out after this egret, causing it to relocate. She tried calling it back, but it would have nothing to do with her. She needs to use that leash, as required by law!!! First comment is moments before, as the dog charges...

Also known as the short-tailed weasel or stoat.

The ermine changes its fur color from a reddish-brown to a stark white as summer turns into winter.

Extremely difficult to get this guy to stand still for a second.

sometimes the only way to keep going is finding the joy in life. RL SL, it's all the same. Where happiness comes from is the part that matters.

Pymmes Brook is located in North London and named after William Pymme, a local land owner. It is a minor tributary of the River Lea.

Broomfield Park, Palmers Green, North London

Broomfield house was sold to London merchant Joseph Jackson in 1624 after several previous occupants. During the 150 years that the Jackson family were in possession of the house, the house was internally remodelled to a considerable extent. The grand staircase was built and murals were painted by Gerard Lanscroon, and the surrounding Broomfield Park was created. During the late 18th century to early 19th century the once U-shaped building was altered into a rectangular shape, enclosing the once east-facing courtyard. After a period where the house was let to tenants, the house and 54 acres (220,000 m2) of land were sold for development to Southgate Urban District Council, who opened the park to the public in 1903.

Between 1907 and 1910 the building housed Southgate County School, with Southgate's first maternity centre opening there in 1917. The building was classified as Grade II* in 1950 because of its history and architectural uniqueness.

Another pretty green space in the beautiful city of Austin, TX. My daughter-in law and I went for a walk one evening on this pretty trail. She wanted to show me a spot she is thinking about for her annual family portrait. I told her I think she found the perfect spot.

Happy Fence Friday and have a refreshing weekend!

Frederiksberg Park is one of the largest and most attractive greenspaces in Copenhagen, Denmark. The park lies at the western edge of Inner Copenhagen. It is a romantic landscape garden designed in English style.

Connaught Water is one of the most popular lakes to walk around in Epping Forest, largely because of the range of wildlife that lives here and its close proximity to Chingford.

A sleeping Quebec City wakes up slowly. Sitting high above the city at Terrasse Pierre-Dugua-De-Mons with our mini tripod and a cup of coffee in hand I enjoyed the sunrise and this incredible view in [almost] complete isolation.

“Terrasse Pierre-Dugua-de Mons, at the end of popular Rue St. Denis, is a welcome oasis (it's part of the larger Champs-de-Bataille park). The green space has views of the ever-magnificent Chateau Frontenac, as well as the Dufferin Terrace and the city of Levis (a picturesque destination on the south shore of the St. Lawrence). It's a relaxing, grassy stopping point and is a nod to the city's history—it's named after French merchant and colonizer Pierre Dugua. Dugua is the one who gave the order for Samuel de Champlain to found a French trading point, better known today as Quebec City.”

A person appears lost in thought, gazing out from the contrast of nature ( Stanley Park ) to the City of Vancouver that stands before her.

Stanley Park is a 405-hectare public park in British Columbia, Canada, that makes up the northwestern half of Vancouver's Downtown peninsula, surrounded by waters of Burrard Inlet and English Bay. Wikipedia

As Vancouver's first park, Stanley Park has continued to live up to its "greenspace" designation for almost 130 years.

Grand opening in 1888.

Coal Harbour is a section of Burrard Inlet lying between Vancouver's Downtown Peninsula and the Brockton Point of Stanley Park.

Visit to Melaten Cemetery

Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the angel appears to be having a heart attack.

It may have been a stigma connected to the deceased. Whether the deceased actually died of a heart attack, we will probably never know.

We've spent a lot of time in the greenspace as Jasper continues to convalesce from his hind leg strain. Gentle walks with lots of sniffs. Of course that doesn't stop him from wanting to run and go on long walks, but we need to limit him. He seems to be slowly coming back, but it will take more time and on-going restraint from big physical activity. Camera on the ground for this shot to make him look larger than life.

On Earth Day 2025, let the reclaimed green space inspire us to celebrate our collective strength in nurturing a sustainable future. A park on the riverbank is more than just a patch of greenery; it is a meeting point for urban dwellers, an invitation to step away from the daily grind, and a reminder that even in the heart of a concrete jungle, nature thrives. The interplay between the calmness of nature and the dynamism of the city tells a story of coexistence.
