The importance of pasture to horses.
Horses are grazing animals and most horses meet their nutritional needs from cool-season grass pasture or hay.
Forages are an important part of the equine diet and more than 80% of horses have some pasture access. There are many benefits for horses grazing pasture compared to eating hay in confinement, including the reduction of unwanted behaviors such as bedding and manure eating, cribbing and chewing wood. (this info was published in an article from the University of Minnesota )

Was down in Dumfries and Galloway yesterday for some wildlife. A quiet day however there were some cool appearances. This roe deer was grazing, we kept very still and quiet and we’re rewarded with a close up of this stunning animal. I hope you have a good weekend.
"I saw deep in the eyes of the animals the human soul look out upon me. I saw where it was born deep down under feathers and fur, or condemned for a while to roam four-footed among the brambles,I caught the clinging mute glance of the prisoner and swore that I would be faithful."
- Heny David Thoreau
