Se una stella collassa gravitazionalmente, vuol dire che nessuna forza repulsiva è più in grado di contrastare l'attrazione gravitazionale. La sfera stellare si riduce sempre più fino a raggiungere il suo orizzonte degli eventi.
Per un osservatore lontano la stella collassante non raggiunge mai l'orizzonte degli eventi, poichè man mano che la stella vi si avvicina, egli vede il tempo degli eventi relativi alla stella scorrere sempre più lentamente e il collasso avvenire in un tempo infinito. E la singolarità non sarà più solo di tipo spaziale, ma anche temporale.

Final climactic act of Due Comicata. She hangs upside down by her feet from a horizontal bar on top of a pole balanced on his shoulders.
Edinburgh Festival street performers "Due Comicata", a very good fast paced engaging acrobatic clowning and juggling act. Often so fast and unexpected it's very hard to photograph, especially if like me you're not a practised sports photographer.
