Thank you all for everything, I wish you a super, awesome, splendid, amazing 2017!

Thanks to all the people who work now under difficult conditions and make sure that we are well-cared for medically and with the means for daily life.
The current situation with the COVID-19 forces us to look at things from a different perspective. The new insights that we are gaining during this time and their scope will only be visible much later. But we can already see a newly awakened solidarity and helpfulness among people. I hope these many good examples will be much more "infectious" than the virus can ever be.
'There are moments in the day, when I just lose my self in sorrow, and forget...
...how the sky has been much bluer, and my life just so much sweeter since we met.
You make my day, with what you say, a world of calm, inside your arms, I hope you know.
The love you bring, the song you sing, I overflow, I hope you know, I hope you know.
My current mood.
Is gratitude.'

When the sun shows up between the clouds, even in a figurative way.../Tacksamhet, när solen visar upp sig mellan molnen, även i en bildlig bemärkelse.../Gratitud, cuando entre las nubes asoma el sol, aún en sentido figurado...(DSC_1777-3)
I put birdseed out year-round and the birds create these sunflowers for me. I certainly don’t plant them or even sow seeds, I choose to think of it as thank you from my feathered friends.

At times our own light dims and goes out, but is rekindled by the spark from another . . . or others. . . Lynn is grateful for all the prayers and well wishes as she went through her back surgery a week ago and is now well into recovery.
One of the big advantages of holidays in Scandinavia in December is that you can take sunrise shots from 9 to 12 and sunset shots from 1 to 4. The angle of the sun on the horizon remains extremely low all day long. Hvidbjerg Strand, Jylland, Denmark
Mother Nature reminds me of all the things to be grateful for in this time of harvest and thanksgiving.
"If the only prayer that you said in your whole life was, 'thank you', that would suffice."

“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.”
- Melody Beattie

Have a Blessed Easter, everyone xxx
Am truly grateful for your support!!
It is with gratitude that I thank you all for the prayers I received for my son and I. Things have been very hard as I've struggled to get answers but we are taking steps now towards the right medication dosage and this has helped reduce his seizures significantly both in number and duration. Keeping myself calm, learning to recognise and avoid triggers has definitely helped. Thank you for your kindness xx

NO MULTIPLE INVITATIONS PLEASE Thank you!
As the United States celebrates its 250th birthday, I find myself looking back with a deep sense of gratitude.
Even after eighty-two years of hanging out in this country, I still get the distinct feeling that I was incredibly blessed by the sheer bounty of opportunities available to anyone willing to roll up their sleeves and put in the work.
Maybe I haven’t tackled the exact lineup of "Dirty Jobs" that Mike Rowe handles, but over the decades, I’ve certainly done quite a few hard, grueling jobs myself. Some of them were tough, unglamorous Gigs that I wouldn’t necessarily brag about today, but they were honest labor, they put food on the table, and they allowed me to build a life.
That is the true beauty of America—it’s a place where hard work matters, where everyday effort is rewarded, and where an ordinary citizen can build a meaningful legacy.
I am profoundly proud to call this country home, and deeply thankful for the life it has given me.
We have the first really cold night behind us here in Northwest Germany, despite the frosty temperatures the day pleased with perfect sunshine. We used Saturday for an extended hiking trip along our rivers Else and Werre. Kirchlengern, Ostwestfalen, Germany
The essence of all beautiful art, all great art, is gratitude.

This is "The Gratitude Core" dedicated to my first friend in Fotolog.
I drew this one on October 2003.
I started to post my Drawings to Fotolog in September 2003, just 2 years ago.
That was my first time to show my Drawings to other people.
And I got many many nice friends all over the world.

Tall Ships Race 2024, Mariehamn
Gratitude was built in Porthleven, 1903 as a sailing trawler. She was sold to Sweden in 1932 and to Svenska Kryssarklubbens Seglarskola (the Swedish Cruising Club Sail Training Foundation) in 1957.
Since 1959 Gratitude has been sailing with teenage and adult trainees during summer months, and charter with schools and companies during spring and autumn.
She has participated in the Tall Ships’ Races on many occasions.
This work is dedicated to my friends Michael, Fede, Camille and Mr. Happy Face, all of whom help me whenever they can with the Working Towards a Better World group, their help is invaluable and I wish to recognize the time, effort and patience they devote to the group. We are lucky to have such a devoted group of people in our administration. Thank you from the heart!

Last summer, I went into a small church in Fort Langley to photograph it but the light was low and I didn't get any good photos. Yesterday, armed with my new Canon 6D and Sigma 50mm f1.4, I went to the church again and this time the low light, shining through the stained glass windows, didn't matter at all. I am very thankful for my new toys...and for many other things too, of course.
I've spent the past three days trying to figure out the new camera, how to shoot full frame and RAW. And all the buttons are in different places than my Sony. It will still take me awhile...and I'm not giving up my Sony....they will make a lovely couple:)
This humble little shed sits on the shore of this beautiful lake in Lofoten. Where I live, this land would be prime real estate and the shore would be unaccessible to anyone else unless you had built your own second dream home. I love the idea that someone put a shed here instead. Just a place to store things. Like memories.
For those who celebrate it....and those who don't in this particular way on this particular day......I wish you all a most Happy Thanksgiving.
I wish you all many reasons to be grateful.
I wish you all many more ahead.
I know there are many out here who have serious challenges these days. I wish you strength, comfort, the very best of outcomes, the arms of loved ones to hold you up.
And the support of friends.
I was held up and supported this summer and there was an outcome that felt nothing less than a miracle to me.
I am forever grateful for it.....and grateful for all of you.
I send you my love and hold you all in my thoughts.
I wish you blessings.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. 💕
"Thanksgiving comes to us out of the prehistoric dimness, universal to all ages and all faiths. At whatever straws we must grasp, there is always a time for gratitude and new beginnings."

We drove along the California coast on the iconic Highway 1 and stopped at the Bixby Bridge. A cloudy day makes for a more dramatic scene, what do you think?
I processed a balanced and a paintery HDR photo from three RAW exposures each, merged them, made the shadows a touch warmer, and the highlights a bit colder, then carefully and selectively pulled the curves. I also sharpened the image a bit, it is not totally sharp due to camera shake.
