'There are moments in the day, when I just lose my self in sorrow, and forget...

...how the sky has been much bluer, and my life just so much sweeter since we met.

You make my day, with what you say, a world of calm, inside your arms, I hope you know.

The love you bring, the song you sing, I overflow, I hope you know, I hope you know.

My current mood.

Is gratitude.'

Grateful just to be here

I put birdseed out year-round and the birds create these sunflowers for me. I certainly don’t plant them or even sow seeds, I choose to think of it as thank you from my feathered friends.

Mother Nature reminds me of all the things to be grateful for in this time of harvest and thanksgiving.

“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.”

- Melody Beattie

NO MULTIPLE INVITATIONS PLEASE Thank you!

It is with gratitude that I thank you all for the prayers I received for my son and I. Things have been very hard as I've struggled to get answers but we are taking steps now towards the right medication dosage and this has helped reduce his seizures significantly both in number and duration. Keeping myself calm, learning to recognise and avoid triggers has definitely helped. Thank you for your kindness xx

"No matter how good or bad your life is, wake up each morning and be thankful you still have one".....

As the United States celebrates its 250th birthday, I find myself looking back with a deep sense of gratitude.

Even after eighty-two years of hanging out in this country, I still get the distinct feeling that I was incredibly blessed by the sheer bounty of opportunities available to anyone willing to roll up their sleeves and put in the work.

Maybe I haven’t tackled the exact lineup of "Dirty Jobs" that Mike Rowe handles, but over the decades, I’ve certainly done quite a few hard, grueling jobs myself. Some of them were tough, unglamorous Gigs that I wouldn’t necessarily brag about today, but they were honest labor, they put food on the table, and they allowed me to build a life.

That is the true beauty of America—it’s a place where hard work matters, where everyday effort is rewarded, and where an ordinary citizen can build a meaningful legacy.

I am profoundly proud to call this country home, and deeply thankful for the life it has given me.

I am grateful for all of your visits and beautiful and sometimes funny comments. Thank you for being interested and supporting my photos. Thank you for caring about me.Thank you most of all for just being you!

10,000 visits!!! My love and gratitude to you my flickr friends!

I didn't get a chance to post this for the holidays seeing I was so busy. I am posting it now, on the last day of November. Let us give thanks for this month and all the rest. Have an attitude of gratitude. Tomorrow starts my 25 Days of Christmas! I am excited for the first time in a long time. I think, with everything going on in the world right now, all that is so wrong......the things that are right are emphasized in my heart more. Let us get ready for a very Merry Christmas!

"It sometimes strikes me how immensely fortunate I am that each day should take its place in my life, either reddened with the rising and setting sun, or refreshingly cool with deep, dark clouds, or blooming like a white flower in the moonlight. What untold wealth!"

Every now and again, winter skies put on a show.

Tall Ships Race 2024, Mariehamn

Gratitude was built in Porthleven, 1903 as a sailing trawler. She was sold to Sweden in 1932 and to Svenska Kryssarklubbens Seglarskola (the Swedish Cruising Club Sail Training Foundation) in 1957.

Since 1959 Gratitude has been sailing with teenage and adult trainees during summer months, and charter with schools and companies during spring and autumn.

She has participated in the Tall Ships’ Races on many occasions.

As we approach the end of the year, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each of you. Your support, your photos, and your engagement have made this year so very special.

Thank you for being a source of inspiration. You are all so talented and inspire me daily to learn more and do better! I am excited for what the new year will bring and hope to continue sharing this journey with all of you. Here’s to a fantastic year ahead, filled with growth, happiness, and new adventures! Special thank you to ✰Second Life Photography✰ for the group cover Jan. 3/25! I appreciate it very much!

This humble little shed sits on the shore of this beautiful lake in Lofoten. Where I live, this land would be prime real estate and the shore would be unaccessible to anyone else unless you had built your own second dream home. I love the idea that someone put a shed here instead. Just a place to store things. Like memories.

Last summer, I went into a small church in Fort Langley to photograph it but the light was low and I didn't get any good photos. Yesterday, armed with my new Canon 6D and Sigma 50mm f1.4, I went to the church again and this time the low light, shining through the stained glass windows, didn't matter at all. I am very thankful for my new toys...and for many other things too, of course.

I've spent the past three days trying to figure out the new camera, how to shoot full frame and RAW. And all the buttons are in different places than my Sony. It will still take me awhile...and I'm not giving up my Sony....they will make a lovely couple:)
