standing in the silence between shadows and sky, she lifts her phone to the light — not to capture herself, but to echo a moment of feeling completely alive.

Isolated against the sharp and absolute blue of the sky, the red domes of San Giovanni degli Eremiti reveal the secret of Palermo's deepest monumental identity. This is not a simple decorative choice, but the ancient application of a precise sacred geometry imported by Arabic craftsmen and converted by Norman rulers in the twelfth century. In the Islamic building tradition of the Qubba, the structure hides a specific cosmic symbolism: the squared, cubic body of the tower below represents the Earth, with its four corners and material solidity, while the hemispherical dome above represents the immaterial perfection of the Sky and the celestial sphere. The geometric transition from square to circle, visible in the corner joints of the stone, symbolizes the mystical union between the human and the divine, between dust and spirit. There is an extraordinary paradox in this minimalist visual composition, as this monument, despite being a Roman Catholic church, speaks the mathematical and architectural language of Fatimid mosques. Street photography, by cutting out the chaos of contemporary traffic, isolates this geometric purity and returns it to the world in its most authentic truth. The shot documents the persistence of an Arabic Palermo that has never vanished, but continues to sign the city's horizon with the regularity of its circles and the warmth of its stone.

I do like the cross processed kind of look. And yes those are the same shoes you may have seen before (my son's).

The weekend is going too quickly for me!

Taken today in the fields nearby -lucky with the one day of snow in London ;-)

Hope you're having a lovely Sunday! Take care!!

Snowing all day today. Beautifully white but also grey and miserable sky. Cumbersome to take photos, especially with a tripod.. managed to take this one and gave up ;-)

Hope you had a lovely weekend and an exciting week ahead!

And now for something slightly different.. Been busy with my archives lately as I have not been doing much needed sorting out for a long time. Here is one of the new conversions of the old stuff from a spring visit to Stowe Landscape Park.

Also got a few photos pick up by Getty but still sorting out the account with them.

Hope you are having a great week!!

Three 3ft by 3ft canvases commissioned by a client, handpainted in acrylic with paintbrushes. Part of the "tick, tock" series of works.
