Abandoned factory (San Francisco)
The Washington Packing Corporation was a tuna canning factory and operated in the early 1960's, until botulism killed several people who ate tuna canned in this factory.

Continuing with my recent exploration of graffiti in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, "gentrification" is a 44" x 120" digital photographic collage featuring places in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada that were once likely covered in graffiti, contrasted with two places where older graffiti pieces have not yet been covered over.
I spent several nights driving around the City of Surrey trying to find graffiti without any luck. I eventually found some not far from the Pattullo Bridge.
The lack of graffiti highlights the City's anti-graffiti programs which seek to buff out graffiti as soon as it appears.
Graffiti throw-ups are respectfully tucked into the blank zones around the edges of the dramatic legal murals which add so much vibrant energy to this busy back alley in downtown Toronto, Canada.
