12-16c Church of St.Michael the Archangel, Halam, Nottinghamshire - www.flickr.com/gp/52219527@N00/3z1vtc At the time of the Norman conquest Halam belonged to the Archbishop of York's estate of Southwell which had been granted by King Eadwig in 956. Later Halam together with other nearby churches belonged to Southwell Minster with the status of a chapel of ease, its priests living at Southwell until the vicarage was built in 1908.
The first burial in the churchyard was James May in November 1582 after a petition for licence to bury their dead here "as in consequence of the distance to Southwell and the dangers of the roads, especially in Winter, they cannot without great difficulty take the bodies thither"
All restored 1884-9 by Ewan Christian, who described the building as "miserable and damp" with rebuilt south aisle and north porch.
Train "F-CP493-1-18C" heads west at 35th Ave with a trio of Canadian Pacific GP38-2s: CP 3037, CP 3065 and CP 3030.
I was just leaving work when I saw a stack train with BNSF 1864 & 1603 appearing to be departing eastbound.
After driving by the newly released Hustle Muscle outside the shop at 44th, I headed for University but passed Douglas at 35th waiting for the CP train.
I made a U-turn and parked in time to snag a shot of the CP train accelerating westbound.
Notice there are now 3 tracks in the T-yard filled with dead locomotives ("Lugo's"), mostly SD70MACs, the Hustle Muscle was once in this area, but has just been completed and faces uncertainty with MTM & GNRHS at odds.
I never did see the stack train.
It's June of 1987 and three of EMD's GP-59 demonstrator units are headed east on the MILW. They are headed to Tunnel City for testing. They are just south of Winona.

I spent several days in Nicaragua in early February. While at Montelimar Beach Resort, I made an effort to capture the sunset each night. On this night we had a very dramatic sky.
To see more photos from Nicaragua (not seen in my Photostream), you are welcomed to browse this album:
Mike had come along with me to keep me company on the drive to Kingston. Our granddaughter was at her cousins wedding I was photographing so I took the opportunity to grab a shot of her and GP.
I will thank you now for taking the time to visit my little space here on Flickr and hope to get back to normal in the next few days so I can once again be a good Flickr friend.
