Taken in Regents Park on a rather chilly windy day. there were four families together all at different stages. These were the second youngest.
(Anser anser) Mrs Greylag's babies are growing up fast. She still has six at the moment which is pretty good - there are a lot of pike in the lake as well as the usual foxes and stoats and the black backed gulls.

From time to time Canada Geese fly over my house. I enjoy hearing and seeing them. Very nice to see the new goslings.

As always, I'm grateful for your visit, every comment, and fave. Thank you so much.
Have a great weekend everyone!
I finally caught a glimpse of the entire goose family with their goslings last week at my little pond. This was them just coming out of the water and up the little hill. It was difficult to get a decent shot without upsetting the new parents. The goslings looked too distant, so I cropped to bring them closer. Please view large :-)
Have an awesome Friday and even better Friday evening, my friends ;-)
Gosling is a specialized term for a young baby goose, typically still covered with soft, fluffy down feathers and unable to fly. ....This one was seen at a local nature reserve

A tender moment among the gosling family. Captured once again in my favorite wildlife sanctuary: Great Meadows of Concord. I really like my new lens, as it allows me to get closer to wildlife without scaring them away :)
I captured this goose family 10 years ago at one of our local marshes. I'm guessing these goslings to be around three weeks old judging by their size. Their proud parents are leading them into their big, new world!

Baby geese, called goslings, are incredibly impressionable and will follow virtually anything that moves, thinking it to be their mother. They have been known to follow dogs, ducks, and humans, and this behavior can be quite endearing.
Another photo from my escape to the park, walking and getting active for two hours, following the "Stay At Home" order. Here we are allowed to exercise and walk in the parks, following social distancing and using face masks.
This gosling duo photo is part of a series I took from when I was adopted by a family that I'd visit and hang with daily from when the adults birds started nesting to the final flight of the family flock...it was an amazing experience!

Being a bit cheeky today, uploading one before fully catching up with everyone but out of time for now, children are screaming to go out with the day being so nice, will catch up later on my return, sorry If I missed you.
This image of the goslings is from last year, going to see if the class of 2015 have arrived yet, the children seem very keen to see the new batch but I think it may still be a bit early.
Have a wonderful Sunday and promise to catch up later with everyone :-))
