Zoo Krefeld/Germany
Died on 01.01.2020 when the zoo's monkey house burned to the ground. It was set on fire by so-called "sky lanterns".
Mother western lowland gorilla (Gorilla, gorilla, gorilla) "Jessica" - mother to six sons at the San Diego Zoo. "Denny", born 12/26/14, is her latest.
Conservation status: Critically Endangered

Western lowland gorilla (Gorilla, gorilla, gorilla) female called "Kamilah" was born December 5th 1977 at Woodland Park Zoo and in 1983 came to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.
She is the mother of two: "Paul Donn" (~28 y/o) and "N'Djia" (~23 y/o). She is also the grandmother of four and the great grandmother of a 5 year old gorilla boy living in North Carolina.
Kamilah has represented her species through her DNA used to map the western lowland gorilla genome. She lives in a troop at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.
Conservation status: critically endangered.
